Yes, that's snow. Get your shovels and get to it before the guests arrive. Use your blowers, keep your tire cables handy or put on the studded tires-it's time. With some high winds predicted today, one should be flexible about timing your day's activities. The resorts know that trying to ski or ride the lift with 40-60 knot winds makes everyone miserable, so they will shut down those lifts that would place guests in hazardous situations(whiteouts, icy surfaces, lift stoppages, mechanical break downs).
After some morning snow flurries, the local weather should improve, with sun this afternoon and tomorrow. So, ski bums, enjoy this holiday weekend at Tahoma, Meeks, and Homewood-our little slice of the world.
Lake Tahoe, California's Alpine playground, is anchored on the west shore by Homewood/Tahoma, straddling two counties:Placer and El Dorado. The mayor of Tahoma posts information related to the area and items of interest to residents and visitors alike. Its goal is to be informative, humorous, and timely. Hope you enjoy the site.
