Chancellor of the Exchequer: George Osborne

Well, some good news from Europe.  George Osborne, the UK's man with his hand on the country's money, made a statement that was widely published around the world.  The UK has got its mojo back.
Hmmmm.  Is he living in a dream world of his own making?   Maybe the thought is to tell a nice story that the masses will like to hear.  We like nice stories, too, here in America.  He says, among the many things, that the economy is improving, unemployment is low, defense spending is above the 2% required by the NATO contract, and the country's No.1 partner-the US of A, is also improving right along with the UK.  Wonderful.
Meanwhile, across the Channel, the camp in Calais, which stands at about 4500, mostly Syrian refugees, does not seem to be going away soon.  Only last week, 189 migrants sneaked across through the Chunnel as they seized the moment when security teams were napping in France.  Let's hope that these were job seekers only.  Given that most are young men in their twenties, it could be possible.
