The Mayor had a one-on-one conversation with our Minister of Latin American Affairs. Much to talk about: the elections in Venezuela on Sunday; the pending indictment of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff; the arrest of the head of Brazil's Parliament; and the departure of Kristina Kirchner of Argentina.
We also discussed the continuing slide of the Brazilian economy and what it means for the future of the largest country in South America. Generally speaking, it means more pain for thr lower class who continue to struggle in a recession with a devalued reales. The price of oil continues to go softer and this situation does not help any oil producer, including Brazil and Venezuela.
It's cool to be able to speak in real time with live camera; it's almost like being there/here. As summer approaches the Southern Hemisphere, our minister is preparing to get some beach clothes and some lightweight garments to use in the office and his house. Good luck with that.
More later.
Lake Tahoe, California's Alpine playground, is anchored on the west shore by Homewood/Tahoma, straddling two counties:Placer and El Dorado. The mayor of Tahoma posts information related to the area and items of interest to residents and visitors alike. Its goal is to be informative, humorous, and timely. Hope you enjoy the site.
