Burning Man :2016

Burners are loading their vans, trucks, cars, campers, and getting ready: opening day is 10 days away.  Preparations at the Black Rock Desert site have been underway for months.  All is being made ready for the creation of another city of 50K souls overnight that will last 1 week.
This year, Tahoma will have one of our own on site to report on the event(s).  During the camp out, things happen continuously and sporadically.  Theme camps put out their own events for a day or even just a few hours: catch me if you can.  Some events are non-events: join if you choose-your choice!   This gives an open invitation to 'Burners' to participate or not:create your own experience.
Our man on the ground will forward candid photos of art works, burners, and conditions on the playa.   Just yesterday, I talked with a US Forest service agent who expressed the "Federal" position that despite efforts of organizers, the playa environment is being damaged by the intensive concentration of folks and their gear at Black Rock.  In his opinion, this could be the reason that a permanent, privately-owned site(Fly Ranch) is the long term solution.   This position easily matches certain environmentalists position that any human presence is disruptive of the 'natural' environment.
So, bottom line: 2016 will be well covered for Tahomans.  Timely updates will be posted immediately upon receipt.
