Your balls on Bluetooth

The Mayor could not resist the temptation of this post title.   Adidas announced it has a new high tech soccer ball coming to market.  The ball is the same size as their World Cup model but this ball is Bluetooth enabled. It will cost $299 and be available now in selected markets.
The ball was tested with 8000 kicks against a steel wall at 60 mph.  It will withstand 7000 kicks during its useful life.
The ball will be able to connect to an iphone and will record all the characteristics of the individual's kick.  Parameters include speed, direction, arc, and distance until stoppage.  This could be a coach's dream come true.  Now a coach will have a whole host of information to assess his players.
Maybe this could change the game a bit.  Maybe not.
More later.
