The old hotel at 89 and Pine is getting a much needed facelift. The new owners, a San Francisco developer, has committed a large sum into a renovation. The project manager gave the Mayor a tour of the inside to provide a status update for the Tahoma community. Much has been done, but much more work will be needed before completion. Placer county has stopped interior work pending permit updates. The exterior work continues with painting, staining, and carpentry ongoing.
A restaurant is planned for the first floor, similar to the former business that existed in 2009 in that space. It could possibly be up and running by the end of the year. Meanwhile, construction activity on site will continue, but at a reduced rate.
Stay tuned.
Lake Tahoe, California's Alpine playground, is anchored on the west shore by Homewood/Tahoma, straddling two counties:Placer and El Dorado. The mayor of Tahoma posts information related to the area and items of interest to residents and visitors alike. Its goal is to be informative, humorous, and timely. Hope you enjoy the site.
