French Premier Steps Up

Francois Hollande called for an investigation into today's airliner tragedy.   Many French citizens were on board the Malaysian Airways 777 that was hit by a Russian missile while traversing Ukraine airspace.  The French Prime Minister expressed sympathy for the families of victims of the attack.  The wreckage landed on Ukrainian soil, just 50 km from the Russian border.   In other words, the plane had almost exited Ukraine airspace on its journey to Kuala Lumpur(KL).   No one is claiming ownership of this act which could only mean the perps are scurrying to cover their tracks to divert attention from their dastardly deed.
It must be and can only be a Russian authorized event.  Who pushed the button is irrelevant.  The missile was brought to the launch site by Russians, aimed by Russian technology, and fired on Russian command.  Ergo, the fault lies with our good friend(Ha) Vlad the Mad.  Is it time for Medvedev to return?  Or is it time for the military to take over the Kremlin and restore order, or something that looks like order in Russia.  Clearly, the path of Russia is not forward, but backwards.  Now, come on.  Hasn't the world lived long enough with post war (WW II) xenophobia?  The proud Russian people have a right to take their place among the moderns of the world, and not retrench behind the wire of isolation, fear, and foreboding.   Will they be willing to squander the years of progress since the dissolution of the USSR?  Will Vlad push forward his goal of a Novorussiya?  Will the DUMA go along?  All good questions.
