Hillary Clinton on CNN

Former US. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton  made a personal appearance this morning on the Sunday morning show hosted by Fareed Shakaria.  He asked quite a few questions of the former head State Dept. official.  He was particularly interested in hearing of her experience with Russian President Vlad. Putin.  Mrs. Clinton did not have to negotiate any significant agreements with the former head of the KGB, but they did meet face to face a couple of times during her tenure.
Her opinions were guarded and carefully worded.  She mentioned advising her boss, Pres. Obama, that Mr. Putin was not to be pursued for any commitment to change or compromise on any issue.  She also said he was detached during discussions and appeared bored and condescending of those other statesmen.  Interestingly, CNN displayed close ups of Mr. Putin, focusing on his eyes, as though viewers would be able to discern his personality traits.
Now Mrs. Clinton covered quite a few miles while Secretary, but she did not make a difference in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Israel, Gaza, or China, North Korea, or Latin America.  Perhaps her best efforts went to the EU and its recovery efforts.
The 2016 elections are 2 + years away, and a lot can happen between now and then.   After her book debut, there are still many questions.   Time will tell.
