UK Announces Investigation into Murder of Former Russian Agent

In a symbolic gesture aimed at the US and EU member states, UK Prime Minister Cameron announced that a formal investigation will begin into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young former Russian agent who was living in London when he died of apparent poisoning at a hotel in London after meeting with 2 different Russian nationals who fled the country back to Russia.
The Russian defector, Alexander Litvinenko, met with an FSB(Russian Federal Security Service) agent in a London hotel on Nov. 1, 2006.  He became ill over the next 3 weeks before it was determined he had been poisoned by a dose of Polonium-210.  He died after suffering multiple organ failure.   The image of Litvinenko as a dying man was introduced to the British population in the tabloid news media. In a recently published interview, Mr. Litvinenko's widow explained that the West may now decide that attempting to conduct normal relations with Mr. Putin's government in the Kremlin is a loser's game.
Mr. Litvinenko's crime: exposing internal corruption with FSB officials and post-Soviet era businessmen.   When the head of the FSB resigned, he was replaced by-----Vlad Putin!  Then Mr. Litvinenko's phone was tapped.  After several arrests and detentions, the Litvinenkos made their way to the UK through Turkey.  They were granted asylum.
After the Russian lawmakers passed laws allowing targeting of state enemies abroad, a names list came out with the names of Litvinenko, Anna Politkovskaya and Boris Berezovsky.  All 3 are now dead, Berezovsky last year of an apparent suicide.
The twp perps involved with the polonium poisoning, Dmitry Kovtun and Andrei Lugovoi are still in Russia,  beyond the reach of UK authorities that have requested extradition, only to be ignored by Mad Vlad's FSB.
Marina, the widow Litvinenko, says she wants only the truth to be made known, for the sake of her late husband, now dead for almost 8 years.  She claims Putin is not interested in rapprochement, only the power and the money he now has to enhance the power.
