A Deal by The Deal Chump-in-Chief

So, the timing: his 80th Birthday amidst a Fight Club Party at the White House in D.C. The Showman. Always looking for 'free publicity'-that is his specialty.

The detail will follow, of course. He claims that the wording has already been finalized and the Iranian negotiators have announced a deal also.  Maybe, just maybe, some truth can be gleaned from such statements. We've heard it all before.

Among the statements: The Strait of Hormuz will reopen to all(but a "fee" will be imposed, not a "toll", that has different implications/meaning. So, maybe the squeeze worked; but let's see the small print; the detaails as they are spelled out, word for word.  Maybe the IRGC leaders blinked. Maybe the new head of the Fed Res said no to an interest rate reduction until........?

Meanwhile The Show must go on: World Cup Fever(now that the Knicks are off the front pages of both newspapers).   The 'mericans even scored 4 goals-the most ever for a team from USA. They looked good, too: fast, aggressive, skilled and young. It's group play so no shootouts, and ties are recorded with points given to both teams. The last game of the day between New Zealand and Iran ended in a 2-2 tie. The Kiwis had both goals by a scrappy forward-Just. He added to his international goal totals. Tomorrow's slate looks good and games will start early.

Watch 'em.

Chinese Shut Out of Largest IPO Event

By order from above, the SpaceX IPO was unavailable to Chinese investors whether from HongKong or Shanghai.  This clear indication that the treasury Dept., The White House; Homeland Security, and the State Dept. are squeezing Chinese foreign investments.

This widely publicized stock offering by Elon Musk's company set a record for numbers starting with volume and price.  Many retail investors were shut out completely ; many insiders were gleefully counting their good fortune to be an insider, seeing long awaited pricing for their paper holdings over the last 15 years.  Many fortunes will be made, some now, some later.

And then there's Elon. His wealth is hard to comprehend. Oh, well. He makes a lot of people wealthy, that's for sure.  But not the Chinese.

Birthday Sunday for the Chump

So, sports fans tomorrow will feature a number of World Cup group play contests. On the same day, another game will be played in the Oval: The Chump-in-Chief will celebrate Numero OTTO, BD.

In my country, we say Buon Compleanno, Numero Otto. What a day: the Liar-in Chief arrived at his 9th decade on the planet. And he leads the free world as its most powerful person, ever. I wonder if the mullahs, Palestinians, Israelis, Lebonese, Haamas leaders, Hezbollah leaders, Pakistani leaders will send greeting cards or , in the case of Tehran, missiles and drones to the party.

Will there be a small, intimate gathering in the White House (Casa Blanca)?  What will Raul Castro send via diplomatic channels?  Poor Raul, indicted for being a  Cubano. No, not really; indicted for being a Commie criminal, and murderer. Makes sense, given Fidel is in the ground somewhere.

An 80-year old president-who would believe such a thing? Mike Johnson? Bill Pulte? Kash PAtel? Whoopie Goldberg?

Dua Lipa?

World Cup Goes to Los Angeles

So, football fans: the World Cup tournament has begun. After all the hype, the teams faced off all over the Western Hemisphere. From Mexicao to the Canadian provinces, players finally appeared on the pitch to play the Beautiful Game as it is called.

The USA team faced off against favorite Paraguay.  Within the first 7 minutes, the USA got a gift when the Paraguayans scored an own goal, putting the USA on the board. By half time, the USA had added two more scores.

After the half began, the Paras decided they had enough. Soon, they, too, had put one into the net. Now 3-1, US  But the score stayed the same for the rest of regular time.  7 minutes were added at the end. Soon enough, the USA boys put another ball into the goal making it 4-1.

Great start for the boys from the host nation, scoring more goals than any other USA WOrld Cup team.

Keep it up.

We Need a New Intelligent Department Head

Goodbye, Bill Pulte. So, the Oval listened as the midterms approach. Pulte's named was erased from contention as the new head of Homeland Coordination Dept.; the great federal Waste Department. Who's next.

  Who is Jay Clayton? Anyway.

Knicks Take Command: Again by 1 Point

The gods have nodded in favor of New York. Not too many NY fans beyond the boroughs; even Chump wasn't excited-he was sleeping in an undisclosed location, to borrow a phrase.? Not many

The Poor Spurs gave up a 29 point lead; the knicks performed the greatest playoff comeback in nba finals history. And they won on a tip in with 1.8 seconds to go. And the Spurs missed again.

Now the Spurs are in a deep deep hole. What  are their chances of a comeback-they must win 4 in a row. Not happening this year. Maybe next year.  How many games in NBA Finals history have been won by 1 point?

25th Amendment Time

Who does that: bomb, stop bomb. Bomb, stop bomb. Kill innocents, stop killing innocents. Crazy people. Where are the psychologists? Sleeping? On vaca?  Somebody in the Party? Where are the editors in the media? Why can't the editors come out and say what they are thinking about this situation we find the country in?  Nobody has a spine.

Mike Johnson? Retire now; go back to your rabbit hole and eat some cabbage leaves. Your time in Congress is O V E R?

So the Oval says that peace is at hand. Cry wolf, what happens? Everybody continues on with their work. Nobody beleives the Little Boy who cries , "WOLF, wolf, woooolllllffffffff. It's a joke.

Time to step up and call for the 25th Amendment.. Read it: it says what action to take when the Oval is incompetent and a hazard to the country's future.

How's the Bombing Campaign Chump

So, Pete Hegseth and his Boss-The Oval Chump, have resumed the bombing of Iran Campaign. Targets include just about anything and everything. Will Tehran infrastructure be included on the list of targets?

Local Iranians are in for a hot time as summer's heat approaches new highs for the years. Oh, water sources included on the target list. Some say that's a war crime. Who-the ICC?  What a laugher. Nobody knows what's on the list excepting the pilots and the drone pilots who input the data into computers that direct the strikes.

Hasn't any of Chumps advisors told him how the bombing campaign against North Vietnam plaayed out in 1972? Or is that a little too old to be relevant history today? The North Vietnam Commies correctly read the mood of the population in the USA so they played for time. Soon enough, Doctor Henry the K showed up with  an offer they "had" to accept(like Brer Rabbit's briar patch offer).  And then, the counjter offensive began and the rest was history.

The mullahs do know history; they practice occasionally. Bomb this, bomb that, sweep away the dust. Just wait; Americans have little patience for anything worthwhile. They soon tire and want to move on. Good for them.

Chump's bombing campaign is a lot like VOVA's war campaign in Ukraine. After 4 years, Putin can't figure it out nor can his advisors. Timme is on Ukraine's side down south.

Keep bombing , Chump, the midterms are just around the corner and the GOP will be ousted sure as can be.

Goodbye Mike Johnson and all the rest of the Repulsican scum.

Oil Therough the Strait of Hormuz

The US Defense Dept. announced that 100 million barrels of oil were secretly shipped through the Strait of Hormuz this week. Hmmm. Is it really closed or only open to USA shipping?  Well, who do you believe: your own eyes or the Oval?

Sec Def Pete Hegseth is in Cuba today, visiting the troops. Rumors abound that Cuba may be securing some offensive weapons that could be deployed against the US. Hmmm. Is GAESA that stupid? One never knows when dealing wirth a Communist-led government, especially one of the last holdouts of that ilk.

No doubt, SecDEf is messaging the Cuban leadership as to any doubts about the US and its focus on the Caribbean and that entire environment. Stay awake, Raul, a little while longer.

What's New at Texas tech University? Football Gambling

Well, now, how is Texas Tech Uni. doing these days, among all the ink being spent on its latest NCAA controversy/difficulty. Gambling: it's all about gambling, all the time. all of this is predictable: give formerly penniless children gobs of money without oversight or controls; allow gambling and its owners to advertise without limits; and provide unceasing availability of options, and voila! Suspicious betting on outcomes of America's favorite sport.

So, we have a noted quarterback transfer to Texas Tech. He has been soought after for awhile. He signs; he gets $5 millions in endorsement cash; he's golden. He bets. He loses. He's banned. He wins in court. The NCAA appeals. Outcome uncertaain. Quarterback is iagnosed as a mental health case of addiction. NCAA is upset.

Welcome to modern sports. What could go wrong? See FIFA.

Iran and Its Foot Dragging and Continued Aggressive Acts

So, the Mullahs like to keep busy; they like to be considered players on the international scene; they like the world to buy Iranian crude oil; they like to export terror; they like to harass Israel; they like to con the Oval Chump; they like to hold the Iranian people as hostage to their interpretation of the Koran; they like power and glory in this world vice any other: they are the MULLAHS.

Boring. Same old, same old. Too bad for the average Iranian who waits for a missile to land on their house(s). When will it all end? When the mullahs are gone for good and the Republican Guards are gone with them. Then maybe peace will emerge across the desert sands of the Middle East and not before.

How's the War Going, Chump?

Which one: Russya v. Ukraine? Lebanon v. Israel? Or Israel v. Palestinian Terrorists? Or Iran v. USA? Or Israel v. Iran? Or USA v.Iranian Terrorists? Or Hezbollah v. Israel? Or Cuba v. USA? Or VeneZuela v. USA?

California's Election Results

The Oval Chump claims there is voter fraud going on in California-the results aren't in , yet. So, Chump puts out his usual drivel about voting irregularities. Does Newsom respond? NO, he's maybe learned better to keep silent in the face of an idiot's tantrum.

So, we will now assume that the runoff in November will include Xavier Becerra and Tom Steyer and not the Brit interloper, Steve Hilton, who has received Chump's endorsement. Who can believe this Carney Act? It seems to be a poorly written Hollywood drama/comedy.

Oh, well. California is bleediing, thank you Dems and your taxes. The power to tax is the power to destroy. Let's not forget that, Sacramento.

Becerra v. Hilton who will win? Bet on the politician not the Faux news Talkng head that has never had a "real" job. He only talked his way into this fake race for Sacramento housing.

David Cameron hardly gave himan endorsement; more like good riddance.

Xi and Kim: Another Asian Lovefest

Premier Xi of Beijing visited his neighbor in North Korea. It was a stunning experience: lots of mutual smiling and waving to massive crowds staaged for the meeting, the first in 7 long years. This demonstration of fealty would surely send a message beyond the Asian perimeter.

The world wold see with its own eyes that Xi believes in Kim and thanks him for his support in economics and trade. North Korea has overcome sanctions, thanks to China. Despite being cutoff from energy sources, Noprth Korea has been able to keep its economy rolling along. Kim is grateful for Chinese support every step of the way.

Oh, joy.

NBA Finals: Game 3 in the Books

So, it was do or die for San Antonio and the New York Knicks knew it. If they could post a win  to make it 3-0, his team does not leave anything they would certainly win the Finals.  The Spurs were more acutely aware: they could not afford a loss here and then face the challenge of winning 4 in a row.

So, the whole fandom of Gotham was also on board: a win now would almost surely bring the trophy back after 52 years. The seats were filled to overflowing, paacked with celebs,  and Central Park was also packed for a local watch meet up.

Victor was ready, too. The 22 year old knew in his heart that this is why he loves the sport: the challenge of being the underdog(the one dog who submits to the 'big dog'). He has assumed the role of assistant coach(unofficially). He can be seen and heard to be encouraging his teammates, court side. His emotional commitment is obvious to this observer and many more. For his youthful age, he has stepped up to insist that  his team focus on the moment: ban all exterior influence, and forget about Travis and TayTay.

During the back and forth, the lead changed multiple times. The referees had their hands full as the "let 'em play' mantra seemed to over ride their supervision. Fouls became more obvious as players struggled to control movements and attempts to out run defenses and blocking. In the second half, shirt pulling, arm grips, pushing and shoving became rampant.  Nobody wanted to give up an inch of court space, let alone a clear shot. 3-point plays reversed runs and staunched point bleeds.  Coaches became more vocal; refs strained to keep control.  Oh, an the Oval Chump was hiding in the crowd to add some drama queen spice.

As the 4th quarter neared its end, play became even more desperate: the Knicks were behind, just behind-1,2, or 3 points, but the Spurs held on and held up to the pressure. Wemby didn't buckle, but shined. and now he has taken on the persona of 'Arch Villain' of Gotham. Good for you, Victor: a role you can handle with ease. These are New York City Knicks- a teaam accustomed to losing, like the Mets.

New Yorkers are full of themselves; they think they are special. Another myth carried forward by media types who believe their own bullshit.  Did you see the new young mayor way up on the rafters? He couldn't possibly stay away.  Where was Woody Allen?  Hiding? Or Kate Capshaw? Former great Bill Bradley was there, close enough to catch a Knick in his lap!!!!

The Spurs are now empowered and the Knicks have unleashed the genie. The Spurs victories will be sung abut for generations. Watch 'em.

Game 3: San Antonio 115, NY Knicks 111

Does California Need a Former Brit to Clean Up Sacramento

So, we have a recently confirmed citizen running for governor in California. He wants to really shake up state politics. Not going to happen. Maybe the electorate knows that it's best to go with someone you know rather than an unknown, like Steve Hilton. He's a talking head, former advisor to the PM in London-David Cameron. He advised the PM on all types of subjects, sort of a Rasputin: comes out of nowhere and the next thing you know he's running 10 Downing Street.  This is the ancestral HQ of the UK, since 1735.

OLd Steve must have had a long line of BS to arrive in this address. Now he wants to live even larger in California. But, Xavier Becerra will take over after November's runoff between himself and second place Tom Steyer, the billionaire. Old Hilton will have to go back to being a talking head on Fox, extolling the MAGA line of muck.

Does the Oval Chump Like Sports

There's an NBA Final Game tonight-Game 3 of the Finals. The score stands at 2-0 with Knicks in the favored position. If they win again tonight, it's pretty much over for ther Spurs from Texas. They are too young a team to hiold it together, but one never knows with sports: any team is beatable on any given day.

DJT will be courtside or close to watch his Knicks.  What  does then Oval think of Victor? Does he want Victor deported? Is Ice standing by if the POTUS gives the order for ICE to arrest the frenchman? Hmmm. Wouldn't that get the pundits excited. And the SUPREMES, too.

MAybe Stephen  Miller will put the cuffs on the lanky 22 year old phenom. MAybe the KNicks would not cooperate.

Watch the courtside antics.

Zelensky Informs Grandpa

So, the  young Hero of Ukraine has sent a letter to the Grandpa of the Kremlin- Putin. He told him that this war "HE" is waging is only causing many more deaths among his people than among the patriots in Ukraine defending their country. He also told him that the barrage of drones from down south that hammered St. Petersburg infrastructure and ships will continue.

This letter was seen as falling on deaf ears(Grandpa's ears). He has had to cutoff the internet for Russyan peoples. No more access to information that might be critical of Kremlin policies and the war being waged for over 4 years.  This is longer than the Great Patriotic War against NAzi Germany, Stalin's former friends.  Now the Rus have to depend on the few friends they have: North Korea; China's Xi JP; Basher al-Assad(Oh, he's hiding in Moskva); Nicolas Maduro(Oh, he's in prison in US;) Grandpa Raul Castro of Cuba(Oh, he's been indicted by DOJ in US-he can't leave home, even at 94 years of age). And those other oil producers in the MIddle East-our competitors).

Iran is not likely included among "friends of Putin" as they  change sides as the weather goes-not dependable.  Maybe Zelensky was only rubbing salt in Grandpa's open wounds, maybe mixed with local vodka).  And those from Belarus--hmmm. Haven't heard much from Belarussians-they are out of town.

So, like Cuba, the Kremlin is about out of friends. Maybe a few in Siberia, or Vladivostok, or the White Sea. Oh, Alexei Navalny died there-no help there.

Good luck, Grandpa in retirement.

Chinese Woman Attacks California Religious Center

In a time of public dissent and protest, there lurks along side some actions the actions of the crazed fanatic. Recently last month a Chinese woman took action on behalf of her mental state to attack a religious community in central California, in Monterey County on the coast. Deep in the Los Padres National Forest, home of the California Condor, there's a Buddhist Meditation Center located at the ancient Tassajara Hot Springs. The San Francisco Zen Center took over the property in 1966-67 and built a retreat area along the Tassajara Creek. Included was a Zendo meditation building in the Japanese tradition.

A Chinese women was a visitor in the summer of 2025 and had been asked to leave the property after disrupting all activities because of her abherent behavior toward residents. The alleged aron event took place in the middle of the night, the fire started externally quickly spread throughout the building, completely destroying the structure. All that was left was a partial statue of the Buddha. Photos were posted on line of the early moments of the fire after ignition.  She was later arrested by the County Sheriff's deputies after the investigation revealed her identity. No doubt she has harbored anti-Japanese sentiments fostered by Beijing recently. The Buddhist practice of the San Francisco Zen Center is from the Soto Zen Buddhist sect found in Japan.

She was released after posting bail.   Her name is Guo Guo.

They Walk Among Us

So, the Oval/White House lever pullers are sending more degenerate bulletins out to the public. The goal: create fear and complacency as the Oval marches on to ???????

Nobody knows the futture, but we have seen the results of actions in the past: history as teacher. We've come to rely on history as it  teaches us how to prepare for the "unknown", aka 'the future'.

The Chump-in-Chief and his lackeys continue to pump the fear machine as they are unable to move forward from their crazed positions and even crazier  philosophy: The Republican Party Agenda. The GOP has taken the position that America cannot fix itself and a 'new' startegy is necessary to fix the country- a position accepted by 1/3 of voters(maybe). The GOP cannot accept that anybody else can embody the truths as they see them.  The Crazed Oval is definitely crazy. Reading the message sent out under "They Walk Among Us" is reminiscent of Orson Wells infamous radio broadcast that sent a panic across the country as it stated that an alien invasion was underway. It demonstrated what mass media could do when the messaging took place across the country at the same time to all who listened.

Now the Chump is trying the same tactic(s): scare people; create fear(a great motivator); keep people from actioning protests.

Where is Stephen Miller in all this? Right at the front, of course. How about Kash Patel in all this? Right at the front. Where is Todd Blanche in all this? Right at the front. Where is the Supreme Court of John Roberts in all this? Right at  the front. Where is Mike Johnson in all this? Right at the front.

So, more fun and games to come "from the front".

Have a nice day.

Jill Biden and Her Book

The book is not a history; the book is a memoir of her time in the White House during her husband's term as POTUS. As First Lady, she saw and heard a lot. We now know she said a lot, too.  Hmmm. And what we now know some of the things she didn't say, such as: "No, Joe, don't go for anotherr term. Let's go home."

Belmont Stakes Winner

So, horses hoofing around at Saratoga, New York. The race featured 9 horses, one of which won the Kentucky Derby just a few weeks ago. So the field was small, not a lot of puching or shoving coming out of ther gate.

The jockeys of ccourse wwere all jazzed up to be included and they had a 1 in 9 chance of winning. I'd take that bet, as did quite a few spectators in attendance. The weather was pretty good-not too hot, definitely not raining.

So, off they went and beat a furious path to the finish line. Who pulled it out? Golden Tempo, a horse trained by a woman; not many women trainers pull a win off in such high stakes races. It waas not the first for Ms. DeVaux, and I'm sure she'll be back.

NBA Finals: Game 2 in Books

A one point difference: with 9 seconds to go, the Spurs had 2 shots that didn't drop. Two losses to the Knicks who have won 14 games in a row in the post season. It will take a huge effort for San Antonio to reverse a turnament loss.

It's a sporting event. Things happen.

Game 3 should be just as exciting. Maybe Victor will find some magic. They need it now.

Russyan Economic Forum in St. Petersburg

Well, all those Rus economic solons will have a grand old time in St. Pete's: Ivan and Alexei will be issued steel helmets just in case a Ukrainian drone strikes their hotels. VOVA's defenses are leaking. A Ukrainian drone traveled over 600 miles to hit targets in St. Petersburg yesterday. How sad. The Little Dictator doesn't care a twit about the possibilities of impacting his forum guests as they discuss new ways to evade sanctions by the Oval in the White House.

US Congress hass finally stood up to the Chump down the street in DC and voted to impose "new" sanctions on ther Rus, especially  Rosneft Oil Company, the Rus STate Oil business. The Rus need more income, but oil has been difficult despite rising pricing caused by a logjam at the Strait of Hormuz.

We'll see how this plays out. But the Ukrainian Drone/missile organization is finding the range not only of Rus oil infrastructure, but also landmarks and other intercity targets, such as a gathering of financiers responsible for financing Putin's War.

Elites don't count in Russya anymore; VOVA doesn't listen anyway. A dictator who isolates himself has only a limited number of days left before the coup which is being plotted as we speak.

Housing in California: What Candidates Can Do

So, all the candidates for governor of California talk about housing, and talk, and talk, and talk some more. Then what? Nothing. Nothing changes. People yell out loud: Fix this stupid situation. The solution is staring us in the face. More building. Please.

Problem No. 1: the cost of a building permit in California is the highest in the nation. Why is that? Because the legislature allows all the nay sayers to nudge out builders and buyers who want to be home owners in the state.

$29, 500 the  average cost of a permit. That is just that-average. What an outrage. There's no need for this other than a policy that promotes sticking it to the prospective home owner/buyer.  Oh, mitigation costs for road/schools/ police/fire, etc. Part of this reasoniong is to shaft the people who voted for Prop. 13 almost 50 years ago who wanted to stay in their homes rather than be taxed out by annual property tax increases. So, "progressives " found the solution: permit fees.  Wanna liuve in California? Pay permit fees so high that they'll give you a nose bleed.

Fees vary across the state-see Sf. Marin, Sonoma counties. These bastions of NIMBys lilke things the way they are: low population numbers, and enough rentals to allow a few workers to live in cramped apartments so they have jobs around the "hood doing what wealthy owners can't do: mow the lawn, clean the house.

Don't forget utilities. Yes, you need utilities in your home, but California(Sacramento) has resstricted every utility you can think of: electricity, water, transportation, schools, roads, roads, roads, roads, and more roads restricted-We'd rather fund a "Train -to-Nowhere" @ a billion dollars per mile/half mile.

Gruesom Newsom-get out quick before the accountants find more over spending-axiom of Sacramento politics.

Election DAy in CAlifornia

So, today is the long awaited day of reckoning for all those candidates for the Governor's Office in Sacramento, CAlifornia. Exiting office holder, Governor Gruesom, will sit this one out as he prepares to man handle the Democratic Party to under write his bid for the White House in 2028. Good luck wirth that effort.

Polls are opening in minutes, but mail drops are positioned all over the state to facilitate the voters ' efforts to cast ballots. Every registered  voter received a mail-in ballot weeks ago. Many voters have mailed in the two part ballot that includes all the gubernatorial candidates, Lt. Governor,  Head of Public Ed., Board of Equalization(districts),  congressional seat(s), and various ballot measures for taxation, tax extensions and a few local propositions.

   For coastal voters:

VOTE "NO" on Proposition B, the proposition to extend sales tax support for the largest tax drain in Marin and Sonoma countiess. This proposition will suck $50 millions of local dollars out of these 2 counties for another 30 years. Think of it: 1/4 cent sales tax gives this losser $50 millions every year. That is money that could help the local econoy, not line the pockets of do-nothing train toys and the operators.

Vote "NO on B".

SO, don't forget to cast your vote: if you want change-vote.

Welcome Cheng Li-wun, President of Taiwan's Koumintang

Ms. Cheng Li-wun will spend two weeks in the USA on a tour helping to clarify the vision of cooperation with the US on geopolitical issues relative to the Beijing threats that continue to eminate from Beijing/PLA rumor mill.

Her issues include upgrading defense and security in the Taiwan Strait, the other Strait in the international discussion.(see Hormuz). Despite its proximity being more than 100 miles, in this day and age, that is only a doorstep of a difference, especially given China's new surface navy and its capabilities. Combined with missile technology and drones, the island of Taiwan is in the backyard of Shanghai and Hong Kong.

By the way, where is Jimmy Lai? Did the Chump ask Xi about Jimmy's plight while visiting last month? Who knows?

So, the Chump may or may not have a meeting with Ms. Li-wun while she is in the US. It would be appropriate but the Oval has little to say these days about Taiwan v. Mainland Chinese. He probably is more concerned about the reflecting pool's bottom leaks and colors. How nice.

Spurs v. Knicks

The pundits are sooooooooo excited-they'll certainly enjoy this matchup: New York's Knicks and San Antonio's Spurs. While not exactly east -West, more closely North-South. It will be a contest that will reverberate around the sports world for quite awhile.

The Champions League Final match between Arsenal and Paris Sainte-Germain was a big headline grabber. This matchup between two heavy weights will certainly rank up there, too. The nChampions League contest was settled in the usual sad way: PKs. After all the regular time and the extra periods, it came down to guess work and luck. But the Spurs and Knicks will not have to endure such antics. One will emerge victorious by virtue of the final score.

The Knicks fans have waited a long time for this finals game-decades actually. San Antonio has waited, too. And there are stars aboard each team; all eyes will be on the 22 year old Frenchman : Victor Wanbamyama. He has only been playing at this level for 3 seasons. He's made quite an impression on fans, teammates, and all oppponents.

He says he's excited and he wants to win it all. He might just do that. Watch 'em.

Texans Face a New Political Reality

So, Sen. John Cornyn will retire after losing the primary to another CChump candidate. Despite voting for Chump's Oval Agenda, vindictiveness came through when the Oval supported the heavily weighted Ag of Texas, the epitome of a loser. Now the Chump must spend big if Kenny Boy has any chance of defeating Democrat James Talarico.

Talarico is a formidable fund raiser; his opponent Paxton, is the worst. Paxton barely raised $7 millions so far. Talarico is soaring paast $40 millions and counting. Nobody really wants the baggage- laden AG to win anything. He's certainly a loser despite his win over John Cornyn.

Texans should be embarrassed by Paxton's win; but that is not part of the Texan vocabulary. Take away the oil and gas industry and what do you have? A dry, scrubby cattle grazing state prone to tornadoes, hurricanes, illegal immigrants, gun-toting rednecks, close-minded hillbillies, high humidity, terrible summer heat, and winters that invade with impunity when given a chance. And utility shutdowns: the locals can't understand why they lose heat and AC at inappropriate times, like during a heat wave or an Arctic blast from the north prairies.

So, Texans will go to the polls and elect a Democrat in November and the jobless idiot Paxton will go home to stew in his own juices, bitter, angry and alone. How sad. Not. He deserves nothing less as he made his own bed numerous times. Be alone in a Lone Star State.

How much will the Republican PAC spend to elect this loser? The GOP will flood the state but it won't be enough to elect the Chief Loser. He's dead in the water, as they say down south, north of the Rio Grande.

Texas: Ken Paxton Will Face Off With Democrat

So, the Chump's candidate sweeps the table in the primary down in Lone Star State of texas.  Ken Paxton, the creepiest Senate candidate in decades has been a favorite of the Fraudster -in-Chief in the Oval. The formerly impeached Ag fromAustin, TX, will now have a chance to move from the slums of the South to the Slums of Washington, D.C.: the Capitol building.

The Chump is lolling about the Oval today after his 3rd medical physical in a year. Pundits have noticed the Chump's swollen extremities and the bruises on his hands, (a subcutaneous bleed, a common condition among 80-year olds.)

His doctors say he is amazing "for his age". That's the operative phrase-for his age.  Yes, we know what decrepit 80-year olds look and act like, the country just gor rid of Sleepy Jow before he could cause any more damage to the country. Historians will not treat Biden, his wife and family kindly, nor should they treat them kindly after what scam they put over on everybody outside the Oval. Oh, well.

Maybe the Chump will look over the prmary season  and change his position on Iran , and maybe he'll open up the Strait. MAybe not.

It appears to be a long hot summer coming, globally. Heat records were set and broken  in the UK. 94 degrees-that's hot anywhere in the UK.

Texas might get a chance to set records ,too.

Rus Bombard Kyiv With over 300 Rockets

The Rus military avised citizens of Kyiv to leave town as a bombardment was coming yesterday. Hmmmm. This is a good thing? The Kremlin is obviously trying to make some points in a losing battle for real estate. They leveled cultural sites and civilain structures including apartment houses in the capitol.

How are the peace talks going? What peace talks?  The Rus army has no more recruits to send south. They can only send missiles and drones: cheaper and easier to procure from China, etc. So, Ukraine is gearing up for retaliation: a massive attack on Moskva and its infrastructure , to include oil terminals, refineries, pipe lines, and oil ports. My, my, my. When will the Little KGB colonel yell "Uncle"?

Sorry. Won't happen. Mental illness is like that.  Will Zelensky warn the Rus to leave Moskva? Not a chance in hell.

Ken Paxton: Why Does Texas Support this Boob

This man, a candidate for the US Senate, has more baggage than a 20 camel caravan. He's a despicable charactyer in all respects: just ask his former wife. But, he's a top notch MAGA supporter of the OVal Office Occupant-the former Orange -Haired TV personality turned self-promoting money grabbing wannabe King.

So Ken PAxton is kicking the slats out of his Texas "crib" because he thinks by going to the Senate, he'll help his cause to support the KIng. Hmmm. Where do folks get these thoughts? The internet? The mail box? The dream machine? Fortune cookies at a local Asian rice bowl?

I like how the AG of Texas has shopped around various legal trials to make the case best for Ken Paxton and his supporterss.  So, the Ag finds a small town Republican judge without lots of trial experience depending on the case involved. So, against prevailing laws that have tried to stop such "shopping" around for venues of choice, Old Ken picks his locales he thinks works best for -----KEN.(Not Kenny Boy of the old Enron collapse).  The late Ken Lay).

So the Senate composition is hanging in the balance with a real possibility that it will be flipped dur to the fall in support for all things Oval. Chump's ratings are in the ToTo, less than 37% support the Oval at this time and the June elections are around the corner. Then November will loom large as the Chump tries to extricate the entire West from Iran and the Straits.

The sitting Senator from Texas, John Cornyn must be beside himself, as is the Republican Party as it tries futilely to figure out how Paxton's elcetion would play out in the near term, given the seniority system used for committee selection. Junior men have to wait for influence. In Paxton'e case, he'd probably tripover his own feet and get impeached in the Senate.

The GOP is in big trouble.

Any Ships Moving in Strait of Hormuz?

What's New In Iran Talks

   Nothing

When Will Raul Castro Arrive in America

So, the 94 -year old Old Commie Cubano, Raul Castro, has been indicted for murder. Strong indictment. They have the recorded conversation that has Raul ordering the shoot down of small American aircraft(non-military) by Cuban air force jet fighters in 1996 when Raul was head of military ops.

So, now, the Oval is turning up the heat on the island. The GAESA, the controlling secretive group that manages the economy and everything else in Cuba, has become exposed and will now have to negotiate with the Oval , the C.I.A., and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, a Cubano who hates the Communists that took his island home away in 1959-60.

In Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro was arrested at home in Caracas and brought to the US where he has been held since. Will Raul be next? Probably, he'll be sacrificed by the regime who figures that the US won't waste any resources on a 94 year old Commie despite his past criminal acts or murder, etc. The pndits arten't sure, but the Oval may do it, may not do it. Time will tell, depending on further develoopments on the island. The oil embargo has brought new economic stress to the isolated island and its residents.  Finding food has become a problem. Fuel for transportation is about gone.

What next? Ask the Oval.

Do Russyans Fear an Invasion

Igor and Olga awoke to a new reality: Ukrainian drones have found the suburbs of Moskva, you know, the capitol of the Rus.

Drones landed on an apartment buildi ng rooftop, creating a blasted out unit. Reports indicated thewre were deaths among occupants. Hmmm. Sound familiar. Yes, it sounds like the casualty reports coming from Ukraine for over 4 years after the 'Special "FAKE"Operation began down south. Like all single-focused dictators, Mad Vlad can't change his mind. He just keeps rolling along, supported by toadies, sycophants, boot lickers, ass-kissers, oligarchs, and other dictators.

Soon, the Ukrainian industrial complex will be turning out its own advanced weaponry that will reach most of the largest country in the world, a country so large nobody has seen it all. The Chinese have earmarked eastern Russya as a land of opportunity and millions of Chinese call eastern Russya home, while they farm the Amur River regions in an attempt to feed the hungry nation.

But Rus civilians are taking notice. The calls for more "volunteers" to fight down south are becoming more strident. The prisons are being emptied in the efforts to feed the "meat grinder" ij Ukraine that causes millions of casualties.

The EU awaits results of the population of Russya that will soon respond to the rsain of drones thast will fall soon enough.

Get ready Alexsei and Alexandra, springtime in Ukraine will bring war to Moskva.

Greeks Release Convicted Murderer From Prison

So, the wheels of Justice have hit another speed bump in Greece. The Supreme Court after a lengthy  review of the matter, ordered the release of a Greek man convicted in an old case of terrorist activities going back decades. The November 17 gang was found responsible for numerous murders, assassinations, and bombings that killed many victims including a C.I.A. officer from the USA. The group also killed numerous Greek politicians and many innocent civilians caught up in the events.

The 82 year old convict was released because of his age and other factors, including his good prison behavior over the last 25 years of incarceration. He had received consecutive life sentences. He still claims not to have led the terrorists in their work.

Alexandros Giotopoulos will have to report to nearby police station once every month and identify himself to authorities. The actions of the court caused dismay among victims' families. The Turkish Foreign Ministry noted that two victims were Turkish Embassy employees. Giotopoulos was arrested after 25 years on the run on the island of Lipsi where the convicted murderer was hiding, using an assumed name to hide his true identity as a  terrorist. 14 other memberds of the terrorist gang were also convicted and 3 aare still in prison, including the groups main assassin, Dimitris Koufodinas.

Time for another review of the Greek Legal codes.

Republican Slush Fund

well, now. What more can the Chump do to break the political will of the opposition? Pardoning was one thing; now, he wants to reward Jan. 6th attackers by giving them a portion of the $1.8 billion  fund for those who were victims of the "weaponization" of the Justice Department by Joe Biden and others of that ilk. The trump family, widely pardoned and left out of the 'vicitim' loop, won't be eligible. However, after dropping his lawsuit against the IRS and the Justice Department, he'll be content to have $1.8 billions to throw around to his boot lickers, toadies, yes-men, and sycophants.

Even his former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, is on board as acting AG. What a wonderful world of politics by wackos.  Seems like only yesterday, Sleepy JOw was "in charge" and the Dems had a future, somewhere. Then, not enough voters showed up, and the Chump won the count.

His vindictiveness continues as he singles out those who didn't provide a high enough level of support when he needed it most. He has thrown a few bones to his old buddy Steve Bannon, former Naval Officer and one time advissor. So, others will benefit, even the Capitol invaders who wanted to stop Congress during the Electoral College confirmation of the vote.

The courts may look this over; or they may not look it over. The Chump is trying to boost the economy that he has tipped into a possible recession. Only the next few months will see what he has really done to upend the country.

Knicks V. CAvs

Like the game the day before, it was well worth the effort to watch these two opponenets go at it. Easy pickings thought the CAvs. Up by 22 points-it was a waalkover. And then..........

Something happened. MAybe it was the announcement that the LIRR strike ended and all that pentup energy was released in time to save the day. Maybe Zohran made an announcement that the City-owned grocery outlet will feature must haves like milk and bread at super low prices for the masses of NYers.

The knicks in the GArden came back from the dead and soared to a tie at the end of regulation. Then the CAvs unraveled and went down to defeat by 10 points. If  you were a Knicks believer , you went home happy. More fun to follow.

Texas Roils Politics

Ken Paxton: the Texan everyone loves to hate, excepting the Oval Chump.  The Oval likes Paxton despite the train load of heavy baggage he pulls along the tracks. This notorious scum bucket has been endorsed by the Chump because Paxton is one of those climbers and grovelers who knows he must grovel to rise higher on the ladder of power.

His notoriety in Texas illustrates the depth of the War-MAker -in-Chief's efforts to pad the Congress with MAGA lemmings, such as Paxton. He'll serve the Oval King quite wqell if he m akes it to Washington, D.C., home of the Lemmings and Pigeons of Congress.

As the bond market implodes as we speak, the Oval blissfully focuses on the price of a barrel of West Texas Crude and Iranian port traffic. Never mind that his buddy, VOVA is walking the same red (how apropos )carpet in Beijing when the Chump was there to talk about TAiwan and defense munitions he will sell to the island govvernment. Red Dicks together is the current theme in Beijjing: a Commie who arrests Christians willy-nilly and puts them in prison and a wannabe dictator who invades neighbors and kidnaps their children for fun and games in the MotherLand of Broken Rus Dreams.

Putie will grovel to Xi and promise unlimited support against the West(and North, and South, and east, too). The Little MAn and the Asian Sphinx will discuss the flow of Rus Oil to Beijing  needs to feed the shrinking population for a few more decades before the greying of China becomes an overwhelming factor of Chinese life. and the real estate deals in the Amur River Basin cement the farming community there.

Interest Rates Change

The Oval Chump is aware of high yeilds on 30-year Treasury notes.  The Great Economic Oval is setting the world on fire with his amazing Economic Policies and Trump's War against the WOrld.

What a way to run a country; Republicans might as well enjoy the ride straight in the dumpster.

Let's not forget the 77 millin MAGA followers who voted for this Buffoon of Buffoons.

Where's Jimmy LAi?

Well, did Chump bring up the name: Jimmy LAi? What do you think?

OKC V. SPurs: DOUble Overtime

The first game of the Western NBA Finals was amazing. Yes, over used description, but allowed in this case.  It was a seesaw contest the entire game. Regulation time  ended in a tie.  The Spurs had a shot, but it was blocked. Then the first Over Time period. Again, back and forth. Seemed like the Spurs were going to turn this to a victory, but OKC's Caruso put in a timely 3-pointer and got back into it.

But, as fate would have it, the first OT period ended in a second tie. This was the 6th period of play and time on the floor for both teams started to add up. Soon, San Antonio began to pull away, and then it became evident that with the help of Victor Wambanyama, they cemented the victory.

This young star player impressed all who were watching wherever they sat. His skills are impressive. His age makes him stand out- he will get better with time; we know this. His teammates accept his role as the anchor of the defense, and the playmaker on the offense.

The Thunder will now face the facts: it's not the same team they faced during the regular season. Victor is much better than he was 4 months ago. His teammates have adjusted as well, seeing this amazing talent in their midst.

Amazing. Watch 'em.

How is the Embargo Of Iran Going

What is going on in the Persian Gulf? TBD.

Where's Jimmy LAi?

Did the Chump even mention Jimmy LAi? Or did he cower in front of the Leader?  How's Jimmy doing in solitary confinement? Is he given his meds? Is he able to see the sun during the day? Can he be visited by other dissidents who want to converse with him before he croaks?

Does Xi give a rat's aass about Jimmy or is he just sending messages to others in Hong Kong?

Have a nice Chinese Year of the Horse DAy, Jimmy.

Xi TRumps the Chump

So, the Chump of the Oval has returned from Asia where he met up with Xi JP. How'd it go, Stumpie? A  win/win? Hmmm. First reports seem to say that you were proven inept, again. You gave away the store and got nothing in return. WHat of "The Art of the Deal"? Did you give Xi a signed copy of your book of the samer name? Xi probably read it and put it to good use when he did the "deal". He stopped you from selling armaments to Taiwan and he promised he'd think about reducing industrial production in his country, and maybe in a few decades he'd stop burning coal after he produced enough energy resources to be completely electrified.

And then he chuckles to himself when he understands that the Chump of the Oval has cut back electrification and promoted fossil fuels -oil and gas. Oh, the Strait of Hormuz? Xi will just let the Gut Decision MAker continue to dig deeper into the swamp of the Middle East wherte there asre no winners, just a long string nof losers, no matter Arab or other.

Have a nice Chinese Day of Horses

Whiskey, Whiskey, and More Whiskey

The Deputy MAYor of Tahoma returned from a tour of Kentucky.  Whiskey was the subject of various inspections. There is a possibility that a distillery could be founded in Tahoma, soon.  However, all is not roses in Kentucky bourbon world.  Drinkers have stopped drinking the brown. who wants a "Brown" cocktail? Nobody we know.

The Chump in the Oval imposed a tariff on Canadian goods of all types. The brain dead Chump thought in his demented mind that this would be good- the feeling came from his "gut", where most of his thinking noriginates, like a child's thinking. So, Kentucky's number 1 customer stopped buying brown, all brown goods/spirits from Kentucky. This decision rippled through the Blue Grass like a flurry of tornadoes, hitting all the distillers right where it hurts: in the pocket.

First, lay off all the workers; then start storing all the product that can't/won't be sold; then tell the sales forces to offer steep discounts; then tell the barrel makers/coopers to sell their barrels at 'fire' sale prices. Then tell the bankers that loans will have to be renegotiated right away. Then tell the governor the tax base has disintegrated-no new taxes will be paid this year and the state budget will have to be redrawn. Case close. Welcome to Chump's World of Gut-Led Government.

Canadians will soon have their own bourbon production and Kentucky can go fly a kite. Well done Republican voters; another win for the GOP. The Party of Lincoln. Who?

Please buy/drink Whiskey on Memorial Day. In fact, celebrate Memorial Day(the Dead Heroes) with a tall glass of bourbon-it's American, from Kentuckey.  Ha,ha,ha,ha. Now we know what vodka producers in Russya felt after the Kremlin invaded Ukraine 4 years ago.

Maybe a thoroughbred horse could learn to drink bourbon instead of water.

Who Kidnaps Defenseless Children

Why Chump's friends in the Kremlin. Yes, it is now well known that Rus invaders rounded up defenseless children after they invaded Ukraine over 4 years ago. The armed forces had teams looking for orphanages where there would be poor if any security. Also, schools were also targeted by these teams of kidnappers who soought defenseless kids who were abandoned by Ukrainians as they fled for their lives to the western parts of Ukraine. Soon a chorus of voices descended on Kyiv asking the same question(s): where are the children? Who kidnapped my child? Where were they taken?

Investigations revealed the scheme hatched by the Kremlin: bring the children to Russyan families; they will be taught the language of the Rus, and they will be converted into Russyan citizens, given Russyan passports, and ordered to forget their old roots in Ukraine. So, now we have 20,000+ children being hel;d captive by the Russyans in various locations. Their parents in Ukraine keep asking questions and they keep the pressure on international authorities who have offered help to return these kidnapped babies and children.

What sick minds hatched this scheme? Which perverted individual constructed this operation to bolster the sinking birth rate in the largest country in the world which will soon run out of people to populate its vastness, from the Pacific Ocean to the North Atlantic and the Arctic Oceans.  Even the Chinese are looking at vast stretches of Siberia as the future lands to grow food for its own sinking numbers. When a country can no longer feed itself, it must die or grab other territories to exploit those areas to grow food for its peoples. China does not have enough land for agriculture, and the Amur River Basin is the perfect solution. So, 5 million Chinese have moved into Russya to grow squash, beans, sugar beets, carrots, and other veggies.

So, where are the kids, Vladimir?  You will stand trial for these heinous crimes against humanity. You will be held in jail forever: the jail of the guilty no matter the refuge you find to hide your withered corpus when the UN comes calling in Moskva. You cannot hide. Your own former subjects will rat you out for a crust of black bread. That's right: and it won't be long before the coup grabs you and your lackies and carts you off to the Hague to stand strial for kidnapping/stealingf defenseless babiwes and children. You will pay, Pervert.

And then the world can close this miserable chapter of Russyan history; a  history marked by patheic invasions; mass murders, kidnappings, and grievous abuse of civilians that were positively targeted as they were defenseless and acutely vulnerable to armed invasion.  The world will remember as you claim you did after the Nazi invades were vanquished 80 years ago at the end of WW II.  You were the descendant of survivors but they forgot to tell you the story. You will soon experience what the Nazis experienced: DEFEAT.

Have a nice Moskva Red Square DAy

Russya Sends in the Drones

The Kremlin sent another barrage into Ukraine yesterday, destroying an apartment house, killing 12 civilians, including a 12 year old child.  The entire building  was destroyed an additional victims are believed to be buried in the rubble. No doubt, Mad Vlad wants to raise the ante for defenders of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, drone production in Ukraine continues to improve and daily numbers could soon reach 400 drones per day.  This translate into increased attacks on the Russyan front lines and also the support in the rear areas which are most vulnerable and the least protected by defensive maneuvers.

So, the Rus military machine, totally dependent on conscripts from the lowest segments of society is operating in survival mode, unable and unwilling to press the attacks .  Agents from  Kyiv told stories of indiscriminate targeting of civilian residences.

   What next, VOVA?

Xi Disguises China

The Oval Chump is waltzing around Beijing as Xi tries to negotiate deals. The Art of the Deal author is content to talk about deals. Make deals? Who me?

Xi hopes that the Chump doesn't ask too many questions, such as: Is China in recession? How many poor people are waiting to join the "new " China weaalth?

Maybe the Chump mis really playing Xi for the chump he is.  Really, Xi has his back to the great Wall. No matter what happens, the aging diminishing population won't change in Xi' s lifetime. Result: a broken, weak country beset byb economic problems related to population characteristics, ie. an old, old population without a future.  Also, the country can't feed those they already have. They must import food and lots of it. Where to get the food? Why the USA which produces enormous surpluses every year. China doesn't have enough arable land(land that grows stuff). One solution that has made a difference: lease some land from the largest country in the world: next door friendly Russya where over 5 million Chinese liuve and work in the vicinity of the Amur River Basin.

What next? Technology is not edible. EV's aren't edible. Rice-edible; wheat-edible; corn-edible. Nuclear weapons-not edible.  So, Xi will have to talki with the Chump who wants to free Jimmy Lai, the prisoner billionaire.

Woe to China.

NBA Tournament: Cavs Beat Pistons in OT

It came down to OT. After tying at 123, both teams realized it was going to take extra effort to notch a W. James Harden would play a role. The veteran "beard" scored 30 points to help the team pull out a win. Initially, it seemed that Detroit would walk away with a win, running up a 16 point lead early on. The the Cavs weren't about to give up. Steady defense kept the Pistons frozen at times as the Cvas pressured the defense with aggressive inside moves and the occasional 3-pointer.

At the end of regulation, the Cavs had the last shot but lost the ball and forced overtime.  In no time, the Cavs took the lead, and Detroit played catchup for the last few minutes, never able to overcome a tight defense.

The Cavs now have a 3-2 lead and need just one more victory to go on.

Homewood Resort Activities

Well, winter '25-'26 was a bust for the local resort. Too little snow, too late. Closed. But, activity is ongoing. Crews are working daily but it is hard to discern what is being done. Steel rebar cages are in evidence being assembled in the parking lot, but for what? Hmmm. They appear to be extra large foundation elements, perhaps more ski lift pylons. Perhaps owners are expanding downhill runs for snow boarders, etc.

TBD.

The Chump Meets the Xi

So, the eyes of the world, that is all the eyes of all the world, are focused on Beijing where Pres. Chump of the US is meeting his counter part from China, Xi Jin Ping, for a face -to-face to discuss..........

  •    Pundits are speculating that the two will talk about:
  • tariffs

Taiwan History

So, a full plate of material to chit/chat together. Oh, the head of Nvidia is among the guests, and Mr. Gad About, Elon the Mush Rat will also be hobnobbing around looking wealthy.

Downtown Tahoma Perks UP

So, Memorial Day is fast approaching; it's early this year: May 23. The space juggling among tenants has started. The Bagel Shop is gone now to be replaced by "The Cult Burger shop which hibernates during the winter months for obvious reasons: no demand. Liz' "Where We Met" Espresso bar will reopen later this week serving her various coffee drinks and gelato offerings. Her summer staff will soon arrive as soon as school lets out. They are all locals, too.  The Dog & Bear resto will offer longer hours and another day to their schedule to ensure pizzas are ready to fly out the door.

The USPS office will continue its regular schedule. The realty office is uncertain as to its occupants. Mariani Co. is probably negotiating with a prospect right now.

See you there for coffee.  Meanwhile, the Norfork Inn across Pine St. continues to stagnate, and the religious group owners have not announced any plans to open anything except maybe a prayer weekend. Oh, well.

Mackinaw Trout Times Two

The Mayor and his deputy went kayaking Tuesday morning, putting in at Meeks Bay resort beach. There were but two other parties on the beach at 10:00am.(and a few ducks-Mallards).  There was a slight breeze, onshore, but not too much velocity. We stroked out toward Rubicon and soon realized going any further would be a challenge  as white caps appeared beyond the point.

We were content to reverse course, turn around and cruise past the few lake front homes on the south shore of the bay.  As we approached the beach, two kayakers came around from the Sugar Point side of the bay. Their fishing gear was in evidence and some chatter indicated success.

All four boats hauled out together and the fishermen were happy about their success: 4 fish on, two landed. They opened the cooler and raised two Macks, about 2lbs each, very nice fish. They were taken offshore about 350 yards, at a depth between 60'-70'.  They used plunger lures that work well at these depths. Seems that this depth is not as deep as later in the summer when the fish descend to 120' plus. Probably cooler as the sun's rays reach deeper during the summer months.

The winds on the lake were kicking up to 15-20mph , creating unfavorable conditions and no wwatercraft were observed on the lake. A nice quiet day at Meeks.

Fanny Bridge Update

So, West Shore folks, after a year of road closures at the dam, Highway 89 into and out of Tahoe City is now open. Yes, you can. Go directly into the super market across Tahoe Blvd, or to the bank, or to the hardwar store for tools & paint and roller brushes. Even a plastic owl or hawk figure to scare the woodpeckers away.

The county of Placer and Tahoe City officials , good and bad, will officiate at a ceremony with ribbon cutting on MAy 17th, 2026. free fanny packs(how apropos ) will be given away to the first 500 arriving guests.  Oh, joy!

The Mayor walked across the bridge and absorbed the feeling: it works, success. A finished civic project in record time.  Of course we know it's not a "golden Gate" bridge, but a well used addition to the Truckee River crossing at the famous dam: the Lake Tahoe outlet, where the Truckee r. begins its long journey to Nevada. Recently, a heat dome has settled over Reno and its environs and the locals are enjoying the cool clear waters of the river as it traverses the urban core of the biggest little city in ?????.

5 gates of the dam are now open to relieve lake water levels as snow continues to quickly melt fromthe surrounding high peaks of the northern Sierra Nevada.  There's a bit left above 7000' , mostly on the north sides of the peaks. At Rubicon Peak on the West Shore, the last remnants of winter's poor snow is rapidly flowing downhill into the pristine waters.

So, if one is available for some civic performance, visit Fanny Bridge on May 17.

Washington ,D.C. Reflecting Pool

It will soon be: Blue, like many of the states on both coasts. So, the Oval wants a nice "blue" appearance  when he sees the pool.  This will serve to remind the Oval of his enemies-those who inhgabit the Blue states of the realm.

Blue is bad, except when it comes to reflecting pools. The Oval like the idea of a blue pool-very restful and calming, just what a chief executive needs to stay calm and cool while governing the most powerful country in the world.

Love it. What does Tucker say about the blue pool? What  does MArjorie Taylor Green say about a blue pool?  Or Lindsay Graham: blue pool?  Hmmm.

What does VOVA think of a blue pool?  What does Xi think iof a blue pool?   Maybe he prefers tundra green, or taiga brown.

Norway: Looking Good

How about those Norwegians? They are living the good life thanks to their oil production.  Yes, Norway: a oil exporter, better than most. Their oil is offshore in the North Sea. It doesn't go through the Strait of Hormuz, that sad bit of geography now contested by a few maniacs in Iran which has harbored more than a few maniacs sinselling fossil fuels ton support this national fund is a moral and social dila the revolution turned the kingdom into a theocracy run by religious fanatics and their lackies and supporters.

So, the Norwegians invest in Norway and the citizenry: government provided health care; government provided education; government provided retirement, and best of all: Norway has a sovereign fund of over 2 trillin dollars.  One must love this situation. Oh, some locals think that  sellin fossil fuels is a dilemma: is it a good to pollute the environment?  Hmmm. The debate goes on.

But, until suitable alternatives to fossil fuels become more common place and more affordable, the world will continue to depend on fossil fuels for basic energy needs.

The sovereign fund has about $356,000 for each member of the country-nice.

Pussy Riot on the March

So, Old Mad Vlad has a new headache: his old nemesis the Pussy Riot Rock Group. They've been out of his reach and out of the FSB's reach for several years, but, on occasion they resurface to stick a finger in VOVA's eye, just to let him know that they are still watching his dictatorial moves over the Russyan peoples.

So, way down south in Venice, Italia, the annual art show the Biennale in Venice attracts lots of artists, lots of collectors and dealers, and more than a few tourists, art patrons, curious types, and even a few Italians, wouldn't you know it.

So our girls, the Pussy Rioteers, descended on the Russyan Pavilion in the Giardini, the scene od most pavilions celebrating an artist chosen for the country hosting the pavilion. In this case, the Rus pavilion. Pussy Riot wants the world to know that after 4 years of war that cost the Russyan peoples over 350,000 dead soldiers. Think about it: that's enoough to populate a modern city somewhere in Ruusya.  Then count the wounded: maybe a  million more suffering every type of disabling wounds.  Thousands upon thousands will suffer the effects of those wounds for the rest of their lives with little support from Moskva and the insiders who run the government while VOVA runs around calling Zelensky a puppet.

Many think that Putin likes to harass Pussy Riot because they are well known and whenever they perform he likes ton criticize their music.  Maybe he'll invite them to perform for his wife and daughters who like rock music.  recently, Patriots Day was celebrated on the low down in Red Square because it was thought that Kyiv would order drones to attack participants in the parade and wreak havoc on spectators inflictking a publicity blow to the Rus Army on parade. They just don't appreciate what thenKremlin's fool does for the country: killing 350,000 Rus for prestige and empty patriotism.  Some Rus never change, and VOVA is one of those pathetic humans who can't overcome his inferiority complex.

Strait of Hormuz Not a Problem

So, tankers are lined up near Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.  Lots of issues surround the location; lots of media coverage worldwide. Lots of verbal chatter over the opening, closing, re-opening, re-closing. Naval vessels shooting at each other; ships' crews going hungry, and on and on and on. But:

Not For Everybody

And not for Alexey Mordashov nor his "super yacht"- The Nord. The ship, at 465' long, is said to be worth about $500 millions with space for 36 guests, has its own helipad. While not in Mordashov's name, but his wife's name, the Super Yacht Times says Alexey controls the ship.

Mr. Mordashov is owner of Severstal, the Rus steelmaker(majority shareholder) and is a sanctioned billionaire. He is the epitome of the definition of oligarch, or is simpler terms; a friend of VOVA, aka Mad Vlad Putin, dictator of all Rus.  His net worth is north of $30 billions. In America, he'd be looked down upon as a pretender billionaire.  When Russya invaded Ukraine, the U.S. , U.K., and the European Union sanctioned Mordashov because of his connections  to the Kremlin.

The Russyan military developed relations with the Iranian government and imported Shahed drones which the Rus then conveerted into their own variant known as the Geran. So, there is some speculatkion that Mordashov paid a small passage fee to Iran to be allowed to pass through the Starit of Hormuz and head to the open seas, somewhere more quiet, less prone to bombs and artillery and naval gunfire. Money 'always' talks, Igor.

Despite the passage of one ship, more than 1600 other ships are starnded in the vicinity with more than 20,000 crew and servicing staff.  The International Maritime Organization has reported that logistics of servicing agents has become a problem for stranded crew members.   And all of these individuals are stuck because the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is in charge of Iran, which seized 2 ships in the Starit last week.

Welcome to the Middle East.

New Casualty Figures Expose Rus to Truth

Well, now, 350,000 combat deaths suffered by-------Russyan Army in Ukraine.  The Rus people are having to reconcile this figure with their own perceptions of Mad Vlad's "Special Operation". The outside world knows about the debacle, but inside Russya, those locals don't have much of a clue. They sit and stare at their smart phones, hoping for something, anything that will transport them to a world a separate world, a world away from reality.

As the war drags on and kills more Russyans everyday, the fantasy created in the brain of the Kremlin's own dixtator persists as not only a headache for the Rus, but also a headache for the  Ras-Putin. His generals convinced him that the powerful army of Russya would steamroll Ukraine in weeks. After 4 + years of war, the "steamroll" has deteriorated into the "slug roll", inching along, battered by ice and snow, and the ever present effect of swarms of Ukrainian drones.

So, modern warfare looks different than the war in the old army textbooks.  A few years ago, a frontal assault could happen. Not anymore. That tactic is long over. Mass troops? Look out from above, the swarms are on their way to blanket any and all concentrations of forces: they are being tracked, targeted, and destroyed before they even begin.  The generals are scrambling; the Kremlin is scrambling, the recruiters are scrambling.  Who wants to join the army? Nobody with a brain.  Maybe a North Korean. (Where are they now?). All that information is available online, but nobody in the Kremlin wants to read it. Oh, Patriots DAy celebrations?  Ha, ha, ha, ha, : another concentration to be targeted. Some wiseass in the Kremlin thought it would be cute to ask for a temporary ceasefire during the parade. Laughable, really. More missiles, more drones is Ukraines's response, as it should be. Step up the costs on the Old Dictator and perhaps his advisors will show some spine and assassinate the old bastard.

Patriots Day in Russya

Well, now, are aall the tickets sold for good seats for Mad Vlad's parade of failed dreams? Who will show up to the Onion Top's favorite day when all the fat oligarchs crowd together in their fur hats and pathetic half smiles hoping the FSB is not taking their pictures to show Puttin who's on board and who's stashing money in Dubai and Zurich.

Also in the mix will be the threat(s) from down south: has Kyiv attained enough power to reach Red Square? Will a drone or drones swarm the parade observers with clouds of armed suicide drones that will cripple the government? No doubt Kyiv is thinking ahead and has target makers zeroing in on the rparade route that could provide the best targets.

Putin will probably observe the parade from an unknown location, maybe in the Urals or Vladivostok on the Pacific Coast.  Good place to hide but not good enough. The Israelis know where he is at all times. hey have paid informants throughout the country, including the East Coast.

Have a nice day.

World Cup: What

FIFA is concerned-all the tickets have not been sold. What is going on? Hmmm. MAybe not enough folks want to pay for high air faes. Gasoline prices are through the roof. Bad timing FIFA.  Ha,ha, ha, haaaaaaaa.

Take your World Cup to Russya.

NBA Playoffs:

Some surprises in the first week: more than a few blowout games among the teams vying for status.

It's always interesting to watch the NBA plyoffs because it appears that the teams/refs are operating at a different lecel of play. There's DEFENCE . Ok, that's good. Oh, and they are aggressive in the 'paint'. Oh, the refs missed an obvious foul, oh, now they see it on replay. FLAGRANT, 2 shots. It's different now. Some fouls are overlooked and the teams/coaches/refs are in on the fix.

The fans are sort of on board.

Lula Meets the Oval

So, Brazil's president wants to patch things up with the Oval.  He visits Washngton,DC to try a "face-toFace w/ the Oval. Now they can speak in 'body language'-the language of political leaders around the world. We've all become used to its gestures, postures, subtle movements, eye rolls, head tilts, smiles and grimaces, all of which speak to crowds and audiences, and ubiquitous cameras(we are all camera toters).

What does Lula want from Big Brother? He must need some boosting at home , so he heads 'norte' to get some press and maybe a loan or two. Perhaps it's about tariffs, perhaps not. What tariffs affect Brazil? Beef tariff? No, no beef gfrom Brazil: hoof & mouth disease is still there. Hmmm. Immigrants from Brazil? no, too far, too much water to cross.

Amazon rain forest destruction? Climate change? Illegal gold mining: that's it. Lula is worried about gold being shipped w/o export duties. Wait. Is there sufficient gold in Brazil? NObody knows because most of it is mined illegally under the rain forest umbrella. Or something else. The press is somewhere in the Oval so t will bereported across all media platforms today.

  Watch it.

Kremlin Conducts Shadow War Against Ukraine

The Kremlin likes to deny involvement in the "Special Operation" down south. Since 2014 when the Special Operation" began in Crimea, the GRU has conducted  surveillance ops against Ukraine and her supporters wherever they are.  The evidence continues to mount as the clandestine operations move ever onward not only against Ukraine support, but also opposition voices against Putin and his Kremlin lackies.

This past week, authorities in Lithuania arrested 9 suspects who where involved in acts conducted at the behest of the Kremlin. They included setting remote operated bombs, murder plots against ndividuals in various locations, and continued efforts to thwart assistance to Ukraine against the invading forces of the Rus.

Among the acts were various plots to sabotage railroad terminals, warehouses, cargo planes, shipping facilities, and transport hubs. Many of those recently arrested were recruited online by the GRU. Or by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the official name of it.  Since Viktor Orban of Hungary was given the heave ho by voters, the Kremlin has had to regroup in Eastern Europe as the Kremln continues efforts to undermine the E.U. and NATO specifically. Additionally, Bulgaria now becomes the focus of efforts to infiltrate that state on its border.

Some Rus dissidents from Bashkortostan, a mostly muslim region in central Russya, have been targeted by the Kremlin. Those opponents of Moskva from the region have had to flee for their lives to escape the reach of GRU assassins/murderers who have pursued them.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin has limited locals' access to the internet as they attempt to control all media and media reports on the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Shooter's Dinner in Washington, DC

Hmmm. How's the Secret Service doing today?  Not good is the opinion among insiders and outsiders. Obviously, when an "active" shooter shows up at an event and gets a few shots off near the Chief Executive, something failed; in this case the security detail.

Old sTump wasn't the victim this time, but he could have been. The shooter was captured soon after he arrived in the hotel and fired his weapon. The hotel security was not up to meeting the needs of a chief executive visit. Recall that Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in a hotel in 1968. The assassin was waiting in an unsecure area-the kitchen, when he fired the fatal shots. Sirhan Sirhan rests in jail to this day, where he will die, eventually.

The would be assassin of the Oval will spend most of the rest of his life in prison. He had traveled across the country in an attempt to be another assassin. He had lived in Torrance, California, on the West Coast, a famously "Blue" state area. He was a graduate of Cal Tech, the world renowned university. He must have given his actions considerable thought, as did Ted Kozinsky of Uni-bomber fame. This failed assassin will get a bit of publicity but will soon be forgotten like all the rest.

Homeland Security chief: clean out your desk. F.B.I. Chief Patel: clean out your desk. Head of Secret Service: clean out your desk. AG's office: find a new job. (Todd Blanche go home).  National Security Advisor; go back to Foggy Bottom. Pete Hegseth- clean out your desk.  SecNav-just wait.

Just what the Oval needs today. He'll greet the King of England today, and the Queen, too. King Charles the II will land in D.C. today for a formal visit. His welcome dinner will be very secure, obviously, no assassins will be allowed to enter. These are difficult times in the Oval for the Oval himself. His Iranian friends are not being cooperative. BiBi has revealed an illness, and he has not developed any signs of backing down from his campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon or anywhere else(go get 'em, BiBi). So the King's visit will offer some respite from current concerns.

Perhaps the Oval will squeeze Charles for some support in the Strait of Hormuz-maybe a mine sweeper or two. Maybe a frigate or two or three. Any help would be appreciated, Chas. The Old King hasn't done much on the international scene as his country comes to grips with Brexit and the immigrants reaching his shores. Maybe the Oval will tell him how he does it at home. (Fences, walls, ICE agents, foreign jails, threats, etc).  Charles has been around awhile and knows a thing or two about politics, etc. But he knows the Oval doesn't listen to anybody especially when the mantra around the US is "NO KINGS".  Charles won't take offense at this motto, but he is confident in his own role as King.

But, be careful Charles; make sure your security is in place today and everyday while near the Oval.

Muskrat v. Altcat: Trial Begins

Well, Sports fans, get your popcorn and drinks and lets watch the game as it begins today in Oakland, California. Wait aaaaaaaaa minute. Games? Oakland? Hold on now. Something is wrong, very wrong, crazy wrong. Games?  Hmmmm.

So, folks the Raiders left town a few years ago; you know the OAKLAND Raiders. Then, the OAKLAND A's-they, too, hit the road for Las Vegas(?) via Sacramento, CA. Oh, the Golden State Warriors had their start in OAKLAND, too, in a place called the Colosseum off I-80 near the OAkland Airport(that sorry excuse for an airport). The whole place is a sorry town beset by unsolvable social problems despite being on the fringe of Silicon Valley just south. A new Mayor, Barbara Lee has taken over City Hall and apparently, with her well -honed skills, she's managed to restore some civic pride. However, it will be a long, uphill road to change things there.

When Arnold S. was the Republican hope in Sacramento, he had inherited a bridge project: the removal of the eastern half(earthquake damaged half) and the installation of the new replacement. People wanted to know: How Much, Arnold?  Hmmm. Seems like a reasonable question. The problem was - nobody in the Legislature where the money was to come from could offer a definite number: costs kept rising by the day. But, the question(s) wouldn't die. How Much? How much, Arnie. You were Terminator, tell us a terminal answer: How Much? Finally, $8 billions came out, a lot higher than projected and a lot higher than people wanted to pay, but it was too late; sunk costs dictated that the project would be finished. One can drive over this bridge today. Its nice.

But, I digress. We're back in Oakland where the MAyor began his maritime career many moons ago, at the O.A. T.-the vast Oakland Army Terminal. Yes, the US Army used the area as a logistics center for the Pacific region. The SP trains stopped here, not across the Bay in SF. The container ships now stopped here, not across the Bay. The Key System of trains had a depot here(now gone and forgotten). SF knew it could not compete against all those logistic situations that favored Oakland. All those jobs: gone from SF.

Then something happened in SF.  Bank of America went bankrupt(almost) and was taken over by some carpet baggers from the Deep South. Good bye finance/banking. Pacific Stock Exchange- adios, Amigo. BART came, here and Oakland, too.  Biotech came, but not here, not there. And then: technology arrived in full bloom. By the late 90's, the Dot Com business arrived in SF, not Oakland. It bombed everywhere, but the dot-commers liked what they saw in SF, not Oakland. A new player arrived and covered the western segment of the Bay Area. Oakland's well known problems precluded any chance of competing with SF for location of the 'new' tech industry.

But now, we have sparks flying between two giants of tech; Sam Altman of AI fame and his nemesis,  the Musk Rat hisself: Elon Musk. They will face off in a much-watched trial in Oakland. The old city across the BAy will finally get some attention. Media types will trip over themselves has they converge on the old courthouse. Some will get a seat, others, no. Some will get mugged, some will lose their cars, some will leave in disgust as the trial unfolds. Watch it.

E.U. Extends Financial Lifeline to Ukraine

Well, now we can all breathe a sigh of relief as money will begin to flow to the valiant Ukrainian people who have been attacked by scum from the Kremlin. Putin's "Special Operation" has gone awry and the Rus peoples have suffered at least 1 million casuakties sine the invasion into Ukraine over 4 years ago.

What a boondoggle Mad Vlad has led his peoples into. For what? Only Putin knows the aswer to this question, based on flimsy evidence and ever fewer facts. So, off they go: Little Green Men; and now these same Little Green Men are being routinely massacred on the front lines in the Donbass Region of eastern Ukraine.  Mini drones seek them out and kill them instantly(but not painlessly.) There is little defense against these munitions and Ukrainians are making them as fast as possible, by the tens of thousands. They are even exporting those beyond their needs to help other countries deter efforts by Crazy Iranians who still think they are the best Arab country in the Middle East(not!).

The E.U. has freed up billions for the country after being held up by Viktor Orban in Hungary. he's been voted out for a week and that's no great loss for the West. The Old Fart had been around for 16 years or about 15 years too long.  The money is in the form of a loan for $106 billion, a meaningful amount when one is talking ammunition, supplies, transport, and new technology.  Volodimyr Zelenski will put it all to good use to make the Mad Russyan pay in piled up Rus bodies on the front lines of the war.

Kudos to the E.U. and the Central Bank.

Another Iranian Tanker Seized by US Forces

Well, now, it's becoming routine: Iranian ship leaves port. Heading into or near the Strait of Hormuz, the rocky gap in the earth near Iran. After disregarding orders to turn around, the ship was boarded from helicopter-born commandos who took over the ship and promptly took custody of the crew and the ship's cargo(oil). This the 2nd ship boarded by and captured by US military commandos.

So, the mullahs and the IRGC leaders have a new snack to chew on over the weekend. Oh, what we going to do, Ali?  Send another tanker and lose it, too? doesn't make sense to me or anybody else in the room. Hmmmm.

Maybe we should talk with the Oval; maybe not. Maybe we chance it, and send another shipment out of the Strait, see what they do. They wouldn't do it 3 times or would they. What is Oval thinking now? Who knows.  31 ships have been turned back either leaving or entering Iranian ports. This won't help their oil sales one bit.  Maybe some of Iran's customers will put a little pressure on the IRGC leaders since they are running the government now and for years.

Don't hold your breathe on this one.

Damaged Ships, Blocked Straits, Mines in the Passage

So, we civilians are being treated to grand theater in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. One could see years ago after the brits gave up on the Middle East that the future there would have a difficult time.  As the "black gold" became a modern necessity, the stakes got higher and more expensive as the tribes jockeyed for oil fields in the desert. So, here we are today, fighting and bombing so oil can flow wherever.

Ukraine has joined some of the Gulf states in their efforts to keep the oil customers adequately supplied. Nop supply=higher prices worldwide. Take California, an oil exporter that has seen a large increase at the gas pumps for those w/o electric vehicles(EVs). Shocking, but thius is the 'real'effect' of the blocking of tanker traffic in the Strait.

The Oval has done little to alleviate the situation. rather, the Oval continues to antagonize the Iranians and bluster with more and more threats. My, my. What are all those millions who stayed home from the polls in 2024 thinking now? Maybe things would be different if we had voted.  Sad, really. All those dead bodies piling up around Tehran.

It will end, but nobody other than the Oval is saying when that will be.

Sen. Scott weiner: D-California State:

Quick, Scott, grab some headlines with more outrageous trash. The carpet-bagger from the East(unlike the Magi) has imposed his hysterical positions across the board and has gained a following of sorts in Ultra Blue San Francisco, a well known harbor of wackos and street crazies.

Sen. Weiner is running for Governor in a field well stocked with wackos and crazies(see my earlier post with candidates list). He fits in  with this crowded slate of grabbers, reachers, cloyers, and work-avoidance types.  Locals were happy he went to Sacramento instead of sitting around SF's City Hall looking for solutions for the homeless encampments proliferating around the civic center. But carpet baggers have no shame, no ethics but what they conjure up in their many fever dreams of a fantasy life paid for with taxpayers hard-earned dollars.

The Washington Post editorial board had a nice comment to make regarding the weiner's proposed bill to restrict a psychotherapist's speech.  Therapy as noted in SCOTUS rejection of a Colorado law is professional practice, guided by standards set by competent authority. Weiner wants to challenge the Supremes with a state law that circumvents this decision.  Gov. Gruesom might even agree with the law, but he won't sign it as he wants the Oval in 2028. Weiner wants the Gov's mansion, a form of therapy in his case.

How is Kash: Today

So, the F.B.I.director , Kash Patel, is looking over his shoulder for "the Oval" axe. After he filed the $250 million lawsuit against the Atlantic for an article that stated that Mr. Patel  has had episodes of heavy drinking, some while on duty. Isn't he always "on duty".?

So, the FBI Director has denied boozing. Really?

Truth Social: Please Buy Me

So, former congressman, Devin Nunes, has departed the sTump media platform, TRUTH SOCIAL. He'll be looking for work and spend more time with his Lego toys. The No. 2 person will be interim leader. It was announced by board member, Donald sTump, Jr.

Truth Social, where Ol' TACO sTump sends his media whimperings to the pathetic list of followers, has been losing loads of money since its founding. Income last year was about 3.2 millons. It lost over $300 millions. Hmmmm. Has the family adapted this major loss to its balance sheet(s)? How would you like to be the bearer of this 'bad' news to the Oval Office? You would end up like Devin Nunes, out in the cold cruel world of Washingtoon, DC. Ol' Devin is another Californian who attached his life and his future to the Republican Party apparatus. How is that move loking now?  Will he come back to CAlifornia with hat in hand and try again to be elected to some minor position out in the red estates of the 'Inland Empire" of Agri-Business? Perhaps he'll find some sympathy in Fresno, or Bakersfield; certainly not anywhere near Sacramento or the Deep Blue Coastal Region(anywhere north of Ventura).

This duplicitous liar will find it difficult to arrange a future. His world is a known world of"Former Trumpsters", a world growing by the hour.  Soon, this world will be joined by the director of the F.B.I., Kashli Patel, the whiskey-drinking lover boy who loves to wander about with his Logo-windbreaker that screams in gold Caps his federal membership in the former elite organization.  Next up, why Tucker CArlson as he tries (in vain) to cut ties with the Oval(egghead-shaped)Office on Pennsylvania Avenue. Ol' Tuck, proud son of San Francisco, will wear this mantle F O R E V E R.  What a Putz. MArjorie Taylor Green is already a leader of the "Former sTump crowd.  She will where her tattooed body forever also. (well deserved in her case).

So, who will buy the losses of Truth Social? Mad Vlad? Ali Khomenai? Mr. Maduro? John Roberts? Tim Cook? Jamie Dimond? Mayor Magdami. ? Ha.

Strait of Hormuz: How Are Things at Sea

well, the US NAvy boarde an Iranian ship carrying crude. We'll see how the mullahs and the beehive of terrorists reacts. Maybe they'll blow up a few mosques, or maybe a few coffee houses where Iranians like to smoke and drink strong coffee(no booze). They'll be discussing the "Great Satan" and all of its allies in the"West". You know, 'The West", where fleeing citizens of terrible Middle East countries run to when they need a life outside of Islamic states of terror.

Perhaps the next move will be a few drones sent blasting west toward Greece-easy target, close, unprotected, few people care about the place-rocky, hilly, smells like goats and sheep. Ormaybe lob a few toward Turkiye-rocky, hilly, smells like sheep and goats. Or Iraq-rocky, hilly, smells like goats. Or Macedonia_rocky, hilly, smells like goats. Or South Macedonia: rocky, hilly, smells like goats. Or____________(fill in with any place similar).

The mullahs are great at the bluff- they've used it exclusively now since the revolution.  Maybe someone in power will remember. Maybe the diplomatic playbook will include a bit of Iranian history since about 1950. A few things one could learn. Among those things: Iranians are great at bluffing, and in using partners, like Hezbollah, to carry out their dirty work(murders and bombing usually).

So, MArco Rubio, trying his best to keep up with the Oval character to get things done. Good luck, Marco, you'll need all of that.

MAGA Supporter in Hungary is Voted OUT

Viktor Orban, the former leader in Hungary, was tossed out by voters on Sunday. The rotund wannabe diktator conceded defeat in a publicized speech to the voters.  In his corrupt government, stealing public funds was just business. His ideas of a democracy clashed with every definition. He was defeated by a handsome young former member of his own party.

Peter Magyar looks presidential and acts as such. Time will tell if he can fill the role with those traits that will ensure a solid return on promise to those who voted for him.  Since the collapse of the USSR in 1989-90, Hungary has struggled in many ways. Cast adrift by its former overlord in the Kremlin, the Hungarians knew little about a return to self government. They knew what it looked like in their western neighbors in Western Europe. They saw the USA in the media and relisshed the possibilities offered by the systems in place in those countries.

Fear drove the people to elect Orban as he described the evils that lurked in every city and town as rapacious appointees systematically looted the government coffers for their benefit, not that of the citizens. Orban seemed to think that if the USA elected a man like sTump, then he could do the same for Hungary. sTump heralded Orban as a good leader, capable as a local citizen who knows the needs of the country. Orban basked in the praise heaped on him by the inexperienced loud mouth now running the most powerful country in the world. All he had to do was watch sTump and do the same.

After 16 miserable years, the Hungarian people had finally had enough of his posturing and blather. Orban could no longer hide his record of corruption and graft. There wasn't /isn't enough public money to take care of the needs of the people paying the taxes year after year without anything changing, only promises came in reply to questions.

Unlike America's response to a change in leadership, the Hungarian voters had an obvious choice in Peter Magyar.  He is one of their own, and has experience in government. He has energy and good health apparently, and comes to the top office in response to the voters hopes and desires for a new direction away from the recent past which did little to help the progress of the country and its people.

Time will tell if their hopes can be realized any time soon.

Rory McIlroy Wins Masters

It is a big day for the Irish: native son, Rory McIlroy won the Masters Golf Tournament this afternoon, becoming a back-to-back winner, the first in 24 years. And only the fourth pro golfer to do it.

Rory qualified and made the cut in 2009 at age 17; he finished in 20th place at -2 below, an impressive tournament performance at age 19. However, despite brilliant play over the years, it wasn't until 2025 that he won at Augusta. Now, at age 36, he's done it twice to log his 6th major win of his career. Better late than never.

He can return to his roots in Northern Ireland and acknowledge the high accolades he has earned as his reputation is cemented among the greats of the game.

Zelensky Reaches Out

The President of Ukraine, the heroic Volodymyr Zelensky, has reached out to many of the Gulf States to offer assistance as they confront the rogue state of Iran, the principal supporter of global terrorism not just in the Middle East, but in the world. With its client states of Russya and China, Iran has made its policy one of supporting all terrorists that might be against Western Democracy.

Ukraine is fighting for its national life against the Russyan Bear state run by the MAd MAn Vlad Putin, a demented dictator who has held the Slavic country for over 25 years. It's a sad hisstory of fear -inducing dictatorial government that purports to be a supporter of human rights and personal dignity. Far from it. This rogue state armed with nuclear weapons has launced a campaign against Europe and the United States since the collapse of the USSR in 1989-90.

Pres. Zelensky has led his country from the brink of takeover by the Russyan army to the point of expensive stalemate on the fields of battle in Ukraine. The valiant forces of Ukraine have defeated the makeshift Russyan army time and again since the invasion began over 4 years ago. Now Zelensky is helping allies in the Gulf States as they contend with repeated attacks by the leaderless Iranian government as it attempts to blackmail countries around the world that are dependent upon oil produced in the Gulf region. Many contries are suffering the effects of the blockage of the Straits of Hormuz, the choke point of oil carrying tankers.

Zelensky is providing drones that can intercept Iranian missiles and drones that have been fired randomly across the region in its attempts to hold sway as the Israelis and the US bomb Iranian infrastructure in hopes of toppling the rogue state's regime. Maybe , or maybe not, but Iran needs to be dealt with and Zelensky is helping. What a hero.
