The Prez visited his favorite Democratic bastion yesterday, drumming up some donations for the DNC to help finance campaigns in November's midterm elections. These elections are considered pivotal to retain Senate majority margins to facilitate the DNC agenda during Obama's remaing 2 years in office. At the same time, Hillary Clinton was in southern California to drum up support for a possible run in 2016. This comes at a time when there are an increasing number of armed conflicts going on around the world. To name a few: Syria, where Assad is trying(for 3 years) to crush an insurgency; Gaza, which has been invaded by Israelie troops trying to suppress the rocket barrages unleashed by the Hamas leadership; the advance of Boko Haram in NIgeria where Nigerian army troops appear helpless to contain the attacks; Iraq, with attacks by Taliban troops on formerly secure cities; Afghanistan, where Al-Queda appears ready to undue Pres. Karzai' work over the last several years; and in Ukraine, where rebels shot down a Malaysian civilian jet killing 295 passengers and crew(with Russian made weapons supplied to rebels by the Kremlin.
So, the Prez has a lot on his plate, without mentioning his domestic agenda(Obamacare) which had a legal setback when a federal court ruled yesterday that the federal insurance exchanges could not offer subsidies in states that opted out of the program(36).
This summer is getting interesting.
