Water Treatment Plant Progress

Driving on Highway 89 past Chambers Landing/subdivision, one can observe the site of the new treatment plant right next to the highway at the entrance to Chambers housing area. This is not a small project! The technology involved can only be guessed at, but I'm sure it's state-of-the-art. It has to be if permitted by every government entity under the sun. Not just TRPA, but Placer county, and the State of California laundry list of oversight departments with some regulatory control. No doubt, existing facilities were inadequate for volumes and or modern sewage disposal systems already in place. At Tahoe, there is no substitute for the best modern science can provide.

Given the winters we've had lately, weather has not been a huge factor during construction. Visually, it is an eyesore. However, when completed, I'm sure it will look park-like, and be complementary to the locale.

We hope.
