Meeks Ridge Trail: Its Happening

So, bikers. Want to hit the hills? Like trails with views? Get ready for the Meeks Ridge trail. Work has already begun just south of Sugar Pine Point Park. The Tahoe Fund and the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association(TAMBA) have launched a $50,000 matching campaign to build the Meeks Ridge Trail. It' anew 4.5  mile multi-use trail that will provide a more than 10-mile loop option for hikers and mountain bikers on the West Shore-the Tahoma side of the Lake. It will start just north of the Meeks Bay Resort, near the forest service fire station. It will connect with the Lost Lake Trail, and end near Highway 89 and Sugar Pine Point camp ground. Donation vista points are available with naming rights @$10k/ea.

Obviously, these trails, this trail, will be seasonally opened and closed. However, when open it will afford access to many visitors who enjoy the outdoors in the Tahoe Basin. Stay tuned for updates as work continues.
