Minsk Mishmash

Will anything of value come from Minsk today?   That is a good question as European leadership attempts to negotiate a cease fire in Ukraine.   With presidents Poroshenko and Putin shaking hands early in the talks, other representatives have given indications that a deal is forthcoming that will silence the guns along the border between Ukraine and Russya.   President Obama made a phone call to Mr. Putin, telling him this week that a ceasefire would help tremendously to advance peace in the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine around Donetsk.   Pres. Obama warned that if the conflict continues on its current path, sanctions in place will be added to, that would cause further financial setbacks for the reeling economy across Russya.
After talks in Minsk, leader will go to Belgium for EU talks relating to Greece and the beginning of the ECB quantitative easing bond buying program.
