Wine in Time: 2013 Vintage

The news you've all been waiting for: the 2013 crush is out of the vat and into the bottle.  After weeks of preparation, careful consultation with industry experts, the Mayor finally took a leap of faith(no, not into the vat) and bottle his own Pinot Noir(French variety).
It is 100% Pinot.  The color is fantastic-deep reddish purple-the true Pinot color.  The aroma is fruity, but not too sweet.  The taste, if I say so myself, is excellent.   It should improve in the bottle over the next 2-3 years, but can be drunk anytime.  The bottling facility at the vineyard served as a good work space and could easily accommodate the equipment, bottles, boxes, corks, caps, etc.  The labeling will be done later(printing delay).   The Brand:  Via Cacciatore (of course)  The Hunter Way.
now registered).  Alcohol is about right: 13.2%.   The clarity is excellent without the necessity of adding clarifiers.  The extra time in the barrel helped out in this case.
News reports indicate that some growers are already harvesting the 2014 crop.  This coincides with the State of California's announcement of severe drought conditions over 58% of the state.  They have also imposed fines for excessive water usage at $500/ per each incident.  Incidents like washing cars, letting water run on the sidewalks, or using a hose without a control will all draw the fine.  Sounds like Communists are in charge.  But, no.  They are just self righteous democrats with Jerry Brown at the helm.
Of course, at the next town council meeting , wine will be served to all Tahomans who show up if over 18, are not allergic to sulfites, don't have a drinking problem, are not pregnant, on psychotropic meds,  or prone to vocal outbursts after one glass of vino!
An example of the label will be posted as soon as we have one in hand.
