Low Water Levels cause grounding

The tahoe Quenn, a tourist boat out of South Lake, ran agrounf 1/4 mile off Ski Run Blvd.  All passengers were evacuated safely.   Coast Guard investigators were on their way from SF to look into the grounding.  The Coast Guard has jurisdiction due to bi-state issues.

Bear Alert
15 bear break ins have occurred in T
ahoma in the past 30 days.  Little damage was done, but one small kitchen/stove fire was blamed on the intruder.   Secure your homes and appliances.

Rainy Weather Brings Relief
Over 1/2 inch of rain has fallen across the basin, tempering dry conditions and giving a break to severe fire conditions.   The slow steady rate allowed the moisture to soak in all over the Tahoe National Forest, as opposed to Southern california which experienced severe mud slides in San Bernadino.   Visitors to tahoe were not over joyed with the unseasonal weather, but, most folks kept up with their plans, sans beach.
     Sunny weather should return tomorrow.

Where We Met Update
Liz F., owner of our local espresso bar is on the mend after a bout of the virus.   She should be back in action within a few days.   Everybody misses our local smiley face and gelato Queen.

Highway 89
With a bit of rain, all the workers are staying home: safer than working heavy construction in the rain.  maybe they'll be back manana.  In the meantime, enjoy the smooth traffic flow through Tahoma.

Annual Meeting: TCHA
Saturday was the day of the annual meeting.  A chance for locals to say high and listen to a few reports from the assoc. board.   Not much happening; membership is down, again.   People are too busy?  Who knows?

Norfolk Inn   Hotel
Work continues, but there has been a definite slow down.  Permit issues, etc.  But it looks better with paint.
