Tahoma Traffic Congestion

Well, here we are: the middle of summer season and the flagmen are all over downtown Tahoma.  With one lane closed, Friday morning was not smooth.   A construction project across the street at 6970 Westshore Blvd. was getting a concrete delivery at about 9am and added to the delays.  Things should smooth out when the weekend break goes into effect this afternoon.

The Boat Show
This weekend is the annual Wooden Boat Show at Obexers' Marina.   CHP cruisers were on hand to assist as visitors and owners vied for parking space.   Nearby property owners set up off street parking and a lemonade stand.   That's a first for Homewood!

Movies In the Park
This weekend's Saturday movie is" Kung Fu Panda".   I'm sure it will be a crowd pleaser.   Film begins to roll at about sundown.   Flashlights recommended.

Music at Commons Beach
Sunday afternoon at the beach, a free concert begins at 4pm.   Headliner is a band from San Francisco: NEW MONSOON.   THey've been around for a few years and have a following.  They have performed at Burning Man in Nevada several times in the recent past.   Their music is well worth the effort.  Bring a beach chair.

Sugar Pine Point Park
Picnicked on the beach yesterday with friends from New Orleans.   They had not been to the shores of our lake before.  They were impressed and enjoyed kayaking, swimming, and people watching.   There was ample parking and plenty of space to set up a day camp.   Best day of the week.
