The Mayor is on Official Retreat this week on the California coast. After a quick trip to the south land to discuss updates with the Minister of Manufacturing and Avaition, it was off to the meditation Center in Muir Beach.
It's not the best time there: a major upgrade is in progress, but, despite the turmoil, things are going well. Why just today, I joined a conference with 2 Russian lawyers: Sergei and Alexandre(Sacha) who were on location for the first time. We discussed the fine points of Moscow(Moskova) and the Oblast of Sakahlin. The island off the east coast, north of the Kuriles is a hot topic now, especially in light of recent events.
No doubt President Putin is discussing the island as we speak. The 2 young Russians seemed to be enjoying the local scene but were not quite ready to jump into the boiling surf and try their luck with the local surfing community which was very well represented today(waves 6'-8').
The mayor will be back in the office on Monday.
