Vladimir and Francois: Phone Pals

Once in awhile, a simple phone call is all that's needed. In this case, the two heads of state needed but a few minutes to wrap up an issue that has been festering for a year or more.  We are talking here of the Mistral amphibious assault ships purchased from the French government a few years ago and held back after Russyan-backed rebels fought with Ukraine's government forces in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine adjacent to that tiny section of Russya's southern border area.  After a nudge by POTUS Barack Obama, Pres. Hollande' of France put a hold on the imminent delivery of these two troop-carrying vessels designed for offensive military operations.   These are two state-of- the-art ships designed by Russyans with Russyan military operations in mind.
They were paid for in advance(of course) and the Kremlin was upset with the delivery hold.  But, coupled with financial sanctions on foreign accounts and certain high placed individuals in Russya, it came as no surprise.   "So, what about my/Russyan roubles/Euros?"  I be needing them back in my/Russya's account.  " Well, Vlady, I guess we can do that.  It would be bad form for a fellow Socialist to stiff a buddy like you.  I'll have my people over in finance cut you a check and we'll transfer the amount to whatever account you wish wherever you wish.  Deal?
Bol' soe spasibo(thank you very much).  " I can use some extra cash, what with the price of oil in the toilet and Obama worried about coal/carbon.  It's not easy being an independent energy producer these days, especially when those pesky Iranians will start dumping on the market before the first snow falls in St. Petersburg.   Thanks, again, Fran, for facilitating this transfer of funds.  I like a dude I can work with; not like some people we know."
Look for these 2 Mistrals to show up soon, probably under a red(small r) Chinese flag.   They like expensive toys; they'll look good in the South CHINA SEA and help with fishing operations.
