Traveling on Interstate 80: Caution Advised

A brace of winter storms is forecast to slam the Sierra starting tonight.  Weathermen predict 3'-5' feet of new snow at Donner Summit, a bit less in Trckee and the West Shore.  We Tahomans are not surprised with this new information, we live here.  But, we are cautious and not foolhardy: we drive when we have to; we carry chains and use them when necessary; and we drive with prudence, observing conditions at all times.
So: a word to the wise: don't challenge Mother Nature; don't drive over Donner Summit at midnight tonight-better you wait a day or two.   Make a call, send an email, why take the chance.
Be safe-be aware.
