Happy New Year: 2019

      New numbers will be required on all documents: 2019, instead of 2018.  How long does it take for that change to be recognized and put into use?  A week?  A month?  Depends: how many times does one communicate using dates?  It's not like the olden days when people actually wrote stuff.  Now, it's different;  who dates their emails?  Who puts a salutation to an email?  Not many.  Hence, it will take awhile before it's common practice to write the new number; 2019.
     Elizabeth Warren, the US Senator has announced the formation of a committee to explore a run for the White House next year, 2020.  She's the first of many Democrats who see the sitting presidential office holder as extremely vulnerable to an electorate that finds him not only repulsive, but dangerous.
      But let us not dwell on politics so early into the new year.  The weather is terrific at Lake Tahoe- cold, sunny, and almost without a breeze-perfect ski conditions for funseekers here in the Basin to enjoy the holiday.
     Be careful driving, which is the most hazardous part of your ski vacation.  Take your time, keep an eye on the weather, and enjoy our environment as much as possible.
