Federal Security Bureau agents captured 7 suspects in Yekaterinburg, an industrial city in the Ural Mountains, east of Moscova. It was reported by the official state media that various explosives, grenades, guns, and ammunition were gathered at the sight. It was also reported that the group was directed from Turkey, and they had planned attacks before fleeing to Syria to fight for ISIS forces against the Assad forces.
Meanwhile, in the far north, Russyan military units were on manuevers with their equipment that was hauled on sleds pulled by reindeer. Yes, those burly, antlered creatures often associated with the Christmas icon, Rudolf, the Red-Nosed reindeer. Oh, those Russyans, they know how to get a headline. The picture of the white-shrouded soldier, complete with Kalishnakov assault rifle, laying flat out on the sleigh with the towering reindeer behind him is priceless. Check it out in the NY Times.
To complete the story, Russya also announced military training exercises in the south of the largest country in the world. And don't forget the Russyan bombers doing a number on Alleppo in Syria, the country's largest city. Look out, Russyan planes overhead.
