US Stock Market Rises Above 29000
Well, the trend line continues to climb northward as the economy continues its record setting surge. Despite incremental improvements-advancing less than 1%, the numbers don't lie: the value of American stocks are the envy of the world-wherever you hail from. Part of the reason was the signing of a trade document between the US and China. This trade deal has been slow to come together as the Trump Administration pressed China to make changes that had been stewing among US government agencies and American corporations since 2001 when China joined the World Trade Organization. Many tech companies complained of forced partnerships with Chinese companies that inevitably led to stealing of trade secrets and patents that the Chinese refused to acknowledge as proprietary. The agreement also addressed conduct of Beijing as it deals with currency issues, specifically, using the Yuan as a currency to manipulate to the disadvantage of foreign traders/countries. Beijing signed on to avoid currency wars with the US.
