Mayor of Tahoma Does Wuhan

Yes, it's true: the mayor of Tahoma visited Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.  It happened in 2019, before the large city of 12+ millions, became the notorious epicenter of the pandemic of 2020.  The Mayor and his entourage were just passing through the city, staying one night at a local hotel(pic) after an all day bus ride from Chongqing, also on the Yangzte River.  We had completed a cruise on the river through the 3 Gorges section to observe the spectacular landscapes for several days.  The weather was exceptional, the ship comfortable, and the passengers amiable.  The ship completed its voyage at the massive 3 Gorges Dam, the project of the century, the largest in the world, and the source of electricity for a large portion of China itself.
After a brief stay in Chongquin, we boarded a highway bus for the trip to Wuhan to make use of its international airport, the only source of international flights, which is a must if flying to-----Hong Kong, our next and last stop on tour.  The airport at Wuhan is magnificent: very large in anticipation of many more passengers and flights.  We were flying the next day and would spend some time in Wuhan, on the fringe, before taking our connection on to HK.
