With snow falling, Highway 89 closed at Emerald Bay, and partial closures of I-80, it is a wise move to close operation temporarily to afford employees and guests the option of staying home, off the roads. Snow fall was forecast to reach 3'-4 feet at higher elevations. The West Shore Cafe has closed and will evaluate conditions before March 22.
So, stay tuned to your favorite information source( please, a reliable source!) and pay attention.
Follow the usual guidelines for staying at home to slow the spread of the virus as most health authorities believe that conditions will deteriorate further before any improvement occurs, here and in those hard hit countries in China, Korea, Iran, and Italy.
Things to do:
1) take a nice walk and listen to the silence
2) put on the cross country skis and hit the trails in Sugar Pine State Park, or in Tahoe City Ski Trail Park
3) Line up some books from your library that have been on your list to get to; maybe reread a grat classic such as The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck's Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the depression among ag workers in California.
4) fix that annoying plumbing fixture
5) add some shelves in the garage
6) organize the garage/tools/work bench
7) my favorite: write a "real" letter to an old friend
Stay Well
