More snow: powder conditions. 2 feet of new snow falling. 72 hours of snowfall. Yea.
Update
I-80 Closed currently from Colfax to the Nevada state line, or for 50 miles, both directions. It take serious snow to cause the CHP to make this drastic move. Motels along the way, hotels in Reno and truckee are getting unexpected clients tonight.
Winter, not easy sometimes. Good for powder skiers, though.
Update 1/5/17
My source at South Lake Tahoe/Myers reports serious snow on the ground not far from the airport. He says that he can't shovel or blow the snow on the ground: too heavy, too wet, too much. He's trapped for the time being. But, he's prepared, with lots of soup, fire wood, and a warm comfy bed to pass the nights. Good luck, Amigo. I -80 open for now.
Lake Tahoe, California's Alpine playground, is anchored on the west shore by Homewood/Tahoma, straddling two counties:Placer and El Dorado. The mayor of Tahoma posts information related to the area and items of interest to residents and visitors alike. Its goal is to be informative, humorous, and timely. Hope you enjoy the site.
