Highway 89: update

Road closed from Emerald Bay to D.L. Bliss State Park.  Oh, you have a problem getting to Placerville? (County Seat).  Well, don't feel like the Lone Ranger.  Folks in Tahoma have dealt with this issue for years: the far northeast section of El Dorado County is essentially cutoff from the county for most of the winter months.  Despite recent efforts to maintain an open road, Highway 89 is impassable during the heaviest winter months.  It make absolutely no sense for this part of the county to be included in El Dorado.  Simply put, it should be run by Placer County to the north.   They maintain an office in Tahoe City for the north shore and West Shore residents.   What's needed is a determined effort by Westy Shore residents to correct this problem once and for all.
More later.
Could be the best weekend of skiing for the year.  Good high pressure system to sit over the Sierra for at least a week.  Get some.
