Well, finally, the Obama Administration acted on behalf of American workers. The Commerce Department imposed tariffs on Chinese steel being exported to the US. The increase was a 296% increase over the cost as listed by the exporter. After steel companies in the US have been laying people off and suffering losses for several years, it is a bit late. No doubt it comes after much discussion. But it coincides with the aggressive Chinese moves in the South China Sea where they have been making islands on top of wash rocks. They have also been constructing airfields on these sites, and claiming that these outposts are Chinese territory. What gall!
And Premier Xi Jin Ping is running an anti corruption campaign at home. Look in the mirror, Fat Boy. And China also issued a new attitude toward their friends in North Korea. Yes, that North KOrea, where workers are paid in promises. N. Korean coal goes to China. The "wages" in turn, go to Peiping/Beijing. The workers get salt.
Maybe some workers in the US will benefit from the move against China. Doubt it.
