CalTrans announced minutes ago that highway 50 over Echo Summit is now closed to aall through traffic due to a rock slide. Because od the size of some of the rocks, heavy equipment will be needed before any traffic will be allowed to pass. So, my Dear Tahomans, should you be among the unfortunate few who must go the the El Dorado County seat in Placerville, down the hill, start early, it will be a long ride and a long day. I think it's time for another look at reattaching Tahoe's West Shore portion of El Dorado county to our near neighbor, Placer County(on the north side of Pine St, so that this ongoing geographical issue can be cured once and for all. It seems supervisors(largely from 'down the hill' see it only in terms of dollars and cents, and little "common sense".
Do they know what the boundaries are of their respective counties? Perhaps not. But for us who choose to live by our lake, a boundary line adjustment makes eminent good sense.
