China to the Moon

Our fave Asian country has landed a rover on the Lunar surface. Ok, it's been done before. In fact, by the United States over 50 years ago. As in Five Oh. What's the big deal? It's a sign that China has capability. They can launch, guide, and maybe return a vehicle after traveling to and from the moonscape. What was the mission? It was designed to scoop up some dirt and rocks. Maybe 10 kilos worth. So, did it complete the mission? We'll find out, won't we. The international news media was properly informed and given access to the video feeds so they could observe the vehicle's actions while on the surface. Sadly,, the feed was plagued with failures during the critical gathering cycle. But, the media soldiered on to watch as sporadic images came and went from the video. What's next for Chinese technology? Guess.
