Out of the Barrel: Into the Bottle: 2014 Pinot

Finally, it has happened: the bottling of the 2014 vintage.  After aging in oak barrels for 16+ months, the lab report was read and the winemaker(your Mayor) decided it was T-I-M-E.  So, the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor spent the day laboring in the bowels of the winery pumping juice from the barrels into the bottles.  Oh, the aroma.  Oh, the process; Oh, the spills; Oh, the pain; Oh, the joy(when done.   Not really done: a few more cases to complete the job will be done this morning.  Then, it will be done.
Tasting: proclaimed excellent, especially relevant to 2013, which was picked and crushed too late in the season(brix too high).  After an appropriate wait, seals will be applied, then followed with labels before storage.
Ahhh, winemaking: does a body good.
