Germany announced that border controls will now be in effect as authorities in Austria and Germany try to cope with the influx of refugees from war torn parts of the MIddle East. Most are from Syria, but many are from other countries torn by civil strife, ethnic conflict, poverty, and economic instability.
Some refugees are from Iraq and Afghanistan where civil war has been waged for 10 years or more. Even North Africa's countries are in on the migration as citizens from Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria jump into smuggler-provided water craft in attempts to cross north to Italy, Spain, and Greece.
It's not pretty, and it's getting uglier by the day.
