C.I.A. Executes Al Qaeda Leader

The long sought leader of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda, Ayman al Zawahri, was executed at his home in Kabul, Afghanistan on July 1, 2022. The search for his office has been continuous for nearly 3 decades. Many intelligence professionals thought that the U.S. exit from Afghanistan just might be the change in situation that would open the door for assets on the ground to find this murderer. The little pimp was living in a home and shielded by the Taliban and the Haqqani network. He spent his days making recruiting videos to spread his message of death to the susceptible Islamists who have no hope of any future but a chance to die on the way to their heaven.

Within the last month, information was collected that pointed to his location exactly, and methods were discussed and approved. Only C.I.A. assets would be involved , and as a result, no military were involved in the strike. A high flying drone armed with modified hellfire missiles would be the execution method used in the operation. Controlled remotely, these missiles, guided by cameras, would be just what the doctor ordered to deliver death to this murderer who was the No. 1 lieutenant of Osama bin Laden. With unmatched expertise, the drone was sent to al-Zawahi's address when he was known to be sitting on a balcony reading comic books that he favored over the morning news paper. He was seen sipping a glass of beet juice, his favorite drink, and he was still, not moving around the balcony. As the drone flew into position, the target was zeroed and the hellfire munitions flew on their path to blast this evil doer into the next life, or wherever Al Qaeda scum end up. His name can now be eliminated from the most wanted list. And a chapter can be closed on another international terrorist organization.

Here in the U.S., we know this does not end the modern scourge of terrorist organizations. However, it does reinforce the position that the world will not forget the acts of these murderers; and they will be executed in time wherever they might hide.
