CalFire, the state department of fire protection, issued a statement of conditions at Lake Tahoe: high winds and high heat/temps, and low humidity. Be careful; be attentive; and no careless fires if camping/hiking/ outdoor cooking.
As we approach the first official day of summer with its longest day, we can enjoy the outdoors of out lake basin while being especially aware of conditions. Good sense can carry the day and a high level of awareness of winds and its problems for firefighters.
