Oakland and Occupy

Oakland police arrested 400 Occupiers over the weekend, putting additional strain on the city's resources. Civic leaders remain perplexed over the protesters continued staging of large demonstrations in their city.
Threats of arrest have not deterred the youthful protesters despite police presence wherever and whenever they gather. The mayor of Oakland is doing her best to keep the interruption of the port as her main goal. Port activity is a mainstay of commercial operations around the city.
While protesters in other cities have moved on or moved to smaller venues, the oakland group continues to plague local authorities.
No solution appears to be in the offing, and politicians remain frustrated and concerned as police activities consume precious budget dollars.
Perhaps a call to Sacramento will happen this week in an attempt to rally state aid in some form.
Keep your eye on Oakland.
