Any snow yet?

NOAA, our official weather forecaster, advises that Tahoma should expect significant amounts of real S-N-O-W!!!!!!
For at least the next 5 days, we can anticipate snow falling 1/2" to 1" per hour, more or less. This is not a high rate, but it will come amid freezing temps and it will stick around and provide a base for future amounts that are sure to follow.
The Storm Door is Open!
Let's enjoy the moment and get ready for some football on Sunday. Wear Red?

49ers-Not so nice?
An article in the WSJ quotes a Stanford University economist and reports that the city of Santa Clara(pop. 103,000) is taking great risks by allowing the 49ers/NFL to build a stadium within the city. He notes that no stadium built recently paid the projected dividends in revenue and jobs. The taxpayers in Santa Clara will be on the hook for the loan amounts necessary to build this billion dollar albatross. Opponents are going ahead with a referendum vote before the voters as the financing scheme has revealed serious flaws, including the sale of naming rights, ticket purchase rights, and the lack of private investment money.
All in all, it appears city officials are naive boosters, ignorant of history, economics, and current events. Woe the poor taxpayer in the City of Santa Clara, they are being taken for a ride by the York Family(owners of 49ers), the NFL(franchise designers), and wealthy builders and contractors who stand to earn almost a billion.
