So Long 2022, Hello 2023

Well, we all have about 90 minutes left of 2022. Quite a year, wasn't it? I know we've heard too much about Trumpy; too much about Elon Muskrat; not enough about the Qatar World Cup; not enough about Covid; not enough about the Supreme Court; not enough about the January 6th Attempted Coup Insurrection by Trumpy supporters(including R. Stone, Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, and everybody's fave: Rudy Giuliani, the pathetic former NYC Mayor.

We all look forward to a year of getting back to what we want to call normal. Southwest Airlines has a different take on "normal". Normal for the airlines is customer abuse on a grand scale at exorbitant price points for a cramped, very uncomfortable seat. The tach world will attempt a recovery from crashing stock prices. The FED will raise interest rates; and republicans will continue to slide into oblivion.

Happy New Year

Russyan Oligarchs Have Problems on Vacation.

News media outlets have begun reporting numerous accounts of the deaths of certain Russyans abroad, in foreign settings. It seems there is a pattern among the deaths. Most of those Russyans involved were high ranking businessmen who had been close to or had been owner/operators of large businesses in Russya. Most of them had been recently critical of the Russyan army's invasion of Ukraine. Wherever they were staying abroad, often luxury hotels and condominiums, the oligarch on the premises decided to jump out a window to his death from several floors above street level. Some were victims of what appeared to be suicide. Some murdered their own families before turning the gun on themselves. Hmmmm. Sound familiar? We should ask the Skrival family of London park fame. Or perhaps we should inquire of Mr. Navalny while he is in prison serving his sentence. This all smells of FSB involvement.

In INdia, where one of the recent incidents took place, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation in what was called "unusual circumstances". Maybe the Kremlin calls this collateral damage. Maybe Sergie Peskov has a different answer. Maybe not.

You Russyans can run, but you can't hide. Nothing new here.

Happy New Year

Georgia v. Ohio State Bowl Game

It had the press build up. It had the place: Atlanta, GA. It had the quarterbacks: Stroud v. Bennett III. Georgia would like to repeat as national champion. Ohio St. would like to replace the Bulldogs as champions of college football. The winner would face TCU, the team that beat Michigan earlier on New Years Eve day, Saturday, December 31, 2022.

What a game! It came down to the last seconds: Ohio, with less than 2 minutes to go, started the drive on their own 25 yardline. They were behind after Georgia engineered a scoring drive that put them ahead, 42-41. Stetson Bennett threw two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to have his team retake the lead. Ohio St. gave up a huge lead they had after the 3rd quarter. But, their defense could not handle the Bulldog offensive game. With a few seconds to go, Ohio St. lined up for a 50 yard field goal attempt to win the game. Their kicker approached the ball and missed the right contact point and the ball shanked to the left, missing the uprights completely. Georgia fans reacted appropriately.

Bulldogs versus the Horned Frogs for the championship next week.

Comrade: Let's Go to Turkey and Join Our Other Comrades

So, Turkey is accepting those "tourists" from Moskova who don't like the weather near the Kremlin. Now when they say "weather", they really mean the occupants of the Kremlin.  They don't like Mad Vlad and his oligarky insider murderers. So, they end up owning an apartment condo overlooking the sea. It's calming. But, the shopping is easier here than the streets around Red Square.

The Turks in and around the  large resort city of Antalya on Turkey's southern coast have mixed feelings about the arrival of so many Russyans who have money(rubles) to exchange for lira. These former vacationers now are staying for the duration. No more return flights "home" to Mad Vlad's wartime scenario; no more listening to "fake news" via RT radio and tv. No more listening to the puppet voice of Sergey Peskov or former president Medvedev. These Russyan expats want peace and quiet which are unavailable west of the Ural Mountains(the European Russya border). Here they walk the beaches in the greyscape of winter, shaking the rabble rocks underfoot, gazing across a calm Mediterranean Sea to Cyprus east or Crete to the west.

Obvious signs of local  change can be found in the price of real estate: prices have gone up, up, and fast. Locals sell at unimaginable figures to new arrivals who are loaded down with the rubles they received when they sold their homes in St. Petersburg or Moskova. They sipped a few shots of state produced vodka, swore they would never return to this god-forsaken country, and fled to Turkey. This story can be retold all over the world as it seems people are in motion on every continent, trying to flee oppressive regimes,  violent rebels, and state actors funded by oligarchs and dictators. And then there's North America.

But for now, Turks must accept the northerners with money: the Turkish government under Erdogan needs foreign exchange: desperately. Inflation is rampant, and Erdogan wants to turn the clock back. Hmmmmm. Sounds familiar to all the Russyans walking around Antalya.

Luka Doncic: He Can Make a Basket

Luka, the 23 year old, 6'7" guard on the NBA team, scored 60 points in a game the other night. Not too bad a night. He also had double numbers in rebounds and assists, known as the triple double. Some folks think this is just the beginning of a Hall of Fame career. His Dad was a player and a coach, and Luka seems to have the athletic ability he inherited from Pops. He's fun to watch; not as much as Steph Curry, but almost. Fans like watching players that can do just about anything on the court. That's why they pay high ticket prices: for the love of the game and the artists who make it such great entertainment.

He's from Slovenia: his parents are both Slovenian and Serbian. And he was born with that indispensable feature: HEIGHT. Oh, well, we all can't be 6'7". But, he is a joy to watch as moves about the boards and under the hoop. Keep up the good work; we all need a lift!

Weather Watch: Sierra @ End of 2022

We wanted snow/rain: and here it comes. Just be ready: we have about 60 hours to get ready as the forecast  says Saturday morning or New Years Eve day. Maybe upwards of 5+' of fresh snow, more at the highest peaks above the Lake. Good for the future but not the holiday weekend. Stay home. Already here-ski tomorrow and Friday then go home.

Driving will be impossible on I-80 and US 50(Placerville). Highway 89(West Shore Blvd. will close around Emerald Bay and Cascade Lake. So, don't gamble. People are freezing to death in their cars in the Northeast. Be smart. Don't be a victim. Stay warm AT HOME! Please.

Tahoma is not going anywhere. We will be here, as always. If you will be here, then have emergency supplies ready: firewood, spare propane tank(s). Food, water, batteries, the usual stuff we mountain folk have on hand. It's vacationers that need the advice.

Happy New Year

End of the Year Stock Selloff

December can be good for the market; or not. Look at the tech sector-scary! Look at the energy sector: marvelous-up >20%, almost 30% for some. So, you bought chip stocks and sold oil in February. Too bad for you; Jerome Powell, FED head had another rate increase in his wallet just for you. And now the banks have to adjust to the end of the easy money era. About time. Maybe now speculators and retirees can park some meager funds into federally insured institutions and not chase crypto hoping for a return that will allow them to live without fear.

Buy Bonds; let the banks eat poop. Sell tech, sell consumables.

Tesla Stock Continues Its Slide

Electric clown car Tesla has seen its stock take a hit. Its value has halved in the past year. How can this be? And the company is offering rebates for the first time. Elon, what are you going to do about this? People are losing faith in your disruption activities. And don't send out those ridiculous 'tweets'claiming all is under control. You have no cred' anymore. You are boardering on another SBF tale. No, not quite, but your reputation is on a downward trend, to be sure. Where are the long lines outside of Tesla dealerships? Hmmmm.

The consumer is sooooooo fickle. I'll do this: a new marketing program: buy 1 Tesla electric car, get another for free. Works for ground coffee, why not e-cars? Wait, a computer took over the braking system? Caused a crash? A recall coming? What is happening, Elon? Time to quit smoking top shelf canna-gummies in your pipe?

Happy New Year, Elon. Sell.

Meanwhile:BAck in Ukraine

Iranian-made drones are landing in parts of Ukraine under attack by the Russyan army on their "special operation" designed to kill Russyan conscripts. The US will now intercept the delivery of Iranian drones to those Russyan forces in illegally controlled parts of Ukraine. These drones are made in Iran by Iranians and sold to their client Mad Vlad Putin, deranged leader of the largest country in the world. Mad Vlad is running out of ammunitions; his bungling war mongers are thrashing around the Donetsk region trying to figure out a strategy that could bring a stalemate so the Kremlin can negotiate a withdrawal and save a few peasants' lives while fleeing.

Ahhh, the Kremlin: the harbor of sad Russyans, hoping for a few crumbs from the Czar's table. Maybe a little more vodka in Ivan's cup; or some beluga caviar from the Black Sea sturgeons; or a bowl of hot borscht with a dollop of heavy sour cream with a slice of sour black bread. No, none of this will happen. Winter has arrived; we are stuck until springtime and the thaw. The Dniper River is almost solid, and we will wait.

     All's quiet on the Don.

Happy New Year, peasants, and don't forget to go to church and pray. Ha.

Chuck Schumer: Where Are You? There's Work to be Done

Oh, it's the holidays/Holy Days-no work to be done. But the world keeps moving. Get out of the house and do something. Anything. Please. Another sad tale of woe. An elected official found out to be a fraud. This not unusual, but the breadth and scope is so obvious, why the late arrival of a confession. Did he really think people would know the truth sooner rather than later? What a world. Let us look on Wikipedia for George Santos bio. More later.

George SAntos: Republican Liar

Are you a Republican? If yes, press 1; if not, press 2. If you are a liar, press 1; if not, press 2. If you are a liar and a Republican, just be quiet.

So, Congressman George Santos, a pathetic liar recently elected to Congress, admits to embellishing his resume/experience after NYT's exposed his past misdeeds, falsehoods, and current situation. He'd give an aspirin a headache. And, amidst the hullaballoo, his party says:_________________(nada,niete, nulla).

The Republican party and its leader(s) fit right in with this reprobate. They have chosen by their collective silence, to join in the fraud, the scam, the insult to voters, and the election process. And where was the media before the scandal arrived in front of us? Oh, checking out classified docs at Mar-A-Lago? Searching the backrooms of the place? Or, braying about climate change and Woke topics? Another failure of out trusted friends at the controls of the information dynamo. How about the editorialists-where are they and where is the outrage?

George Santos: go home. Take the Republican Party with you.

Southwest Airlines Debacle: Winter Travelers Stranded

Flying lately? Want to be home for _________? Booked a flight with Southwest Airlines? Too bad for you. Remember next time you fly: SOUTHWEST DOES NOT CARE-YOU ARE ONLY A NUMBER. Some normal winter weather: snow, wind, storms, etc., descended on a large portion of the US over Christmas. Many travelers were notified in time to avoid going to a crowded air terminal. Some were not. Apparently, Southwest failed in providing adequate notification of cancelled flights. Results: you guessed correctly: CHAOS.

This adds fuel to the perception of all airlines: it's all about the money($$$$$$$$$$$). You, paying traveler, are our last consideration. Hmmmm. Is this any way to run a business? Well, just look around: see a corporate entity, see a disembodied legal person without any need to be considerate of paying customers. This, my mountain friends, is the new NORMAL. How long will the citizens of the land put up with this situation?

Nobody in the boardroom cares; nobody in the boardroom can answer the question.

Happy New Year

Adam Shiff Calls Out Republican Representatives in the House

Adam Shiff tells it bluntly: the Republican members of the House of Representatives who support ex-president Trump's lies about his defeat in the 2020 Election are tainted forever by their dishonesty. The fact that numerous sitting representatives, in the face of the truth that President Joseph Biden won that election indicates these politicians have cashed in their morals and ethics to serve the reputation of the worst president in American history.

Holiday Air Travel: Winter Version

Sad to hear of the difficulties travelers will confront this Christmas. Arctic cold has descended on the continent sending temperatures plunging across North America. Even a few southern states will feel the chill. Over 10,000 flights have already been cancelled by major airlines. Finally, with a push from airport managers and public safety officials, airlines cancelled most flights in advance before travelers arrived at the airport, saving that problem. Information was sent that informed those ticket holders to wait at home for updated flight reservations. Many travelers will not reach their intended destinations in time for the holiday.

Such is winter travel: sketchy at best. Even the hardy traveler who thought it best to drive will think twice before hitting the road with snow tires, a full gas tank, and emergency food supply. He'll stay at home by the fireplace. Watch football tomorrow; and praise Santa Claus Sunday morning. Church goers will miss services unless w/i walking distance of the front door. December. It's winter, Pal.

Wells Fargo: A Criminal Enterprise?

The largest Bank in San Francisco, Wells Fargo, was ordered to pay a record fine this week: it was substantial: $3.7billions. This is another chapter in the sinking of the banking giant by its in house employees. One would think this activity was the result of the action of the few. But,as described in the published reports by various regulatory agencies, the apple is/was rotten to the core. Up and down the chain of authority, managers looked the other way as underlings ignored the rules and procedures in hopes of achieving goals set by leadership at all levels. Profits, more profits, greater profits, more, more, and still more. Hmmmmm. A formula for success? No, a formula for thievery; a formula for deceptive marketing; a formula for taking advantage of everyday retail customers.

The fine came years after it was discovered that Wells Fargo Bank imposed fees on unsuspecting account holders who were charged across many platforms related to their accounts. Many customers were attached to accounts created by the bank to generate more income opportunities. The policy included striving account managers who were ordered to ramp up the numbers. It seems corporations have forgotten their role in this country, which is: operate an honest business, federally insured, that provides the retail customer a safe place to park their hard-earned money. Many of us who observed the evolution of banking over the last few decades have been witness to the changes in the banking sector of the economy. Simply put, banks became jealous of non-banks, mortgage banks, investment banks, and international banks. Many institutions wanted in on the action. Regulators started to contend with industry demands for change, and pressure mounted.

Even with regulatory change, growth did not accelerate quickly enough for the big banks. One result was consolidation. Banks were bought and sold. Little regional banks disappeared, swallowed by mega-banks. Customers no longer had relationships with bankers. They just became numbered customers. Personal banking was dead. Wells Fargo changed along with the many competitors in and around San Francisco. Electronic banking surely contributed to these changes. Numbers were easier to deal with now. Soon, phone service was eliminated. Want an answer to your money questions? Don't call us; we won't answer. And soon enough, bankers forgot they had real customers. Banks now just had nameless accounts with numbers for identification. It made things easier-for banks, and nightmares for retail customers. Heaped on top were ATM cards, credit cards, and the closing of hundreds of brick and mortar locations throughout the region. Soon, the shareholder became king. And the king demanded growth and profits, at any cost. And here we are.

It's not over. The bank will pay, take a charge, and continue to fleece the lambs. Yes, a criminal enterprise lives to see another day. Wells should be closed, or better yet, sent to North Carolina to join Bank of America, formerly of San Francisco. They deserve each other.

Stanford University: Home of the Fraudster Family

Stanford University, the esteemed center of learning, located in the Bay Area on the doorstep of Silicon Valley, has been turned into a prison camp. It was announced today that Sam Bankman-Fried, the accused founder of bankrupt crypto currency operatiion FTX, has been bailed out of jail and will return to the Stanford campus in Palo Alto, California, where his two university professor parents live in their home. Given that both parents were heavily involved in the rise and fall of FTX, it is safe to assume they both will be charged as co-conspirators in the fraudulent activities of their older son, SBF.

The campus will again become the focus of media pundits as they descend on  the bucolic 'farm' setting: rolling hills, tall and mature oak trees, deer cavorting among the various department buildings located in the valleys and glens that are found throughout. Perhaps the lawyer/parents will continue to socialize with their many local friends. But prudence says no. The publicity surrounding what could be the largest fraud in American history defies imagination. They all should be put on suicide watch. Old Jeffrey Epstein decided, in jail, he didn't want a public trial that would identify him as a fraudster/human trafficker. He hung himself. His co-conspirator is now serving 20 years in a slammer. So, SBF and family, comfortable at the moment in familiar surroundings, will mull over the coming storm. How much suffering can one endure? How much life do they have left to live? What will it cost them? Their reputations are trashed, finished, emptied of any beneficial considerations. Their superstar son crashed and is burning; burning them and all he touched. His 2 business partners just plead guilty, and agreed to cooperate with the F.B.I. There's is no escape. Stanford is not a refuge under these circumstances. It is in fact, a prison.

Mrs. Stanford is probably rolling over in her grave.

Trump : Taxpayer or Tax Cheator

Congress declared that Trump's tax returns can be shared with the public. Even Vladimir of Kremlin fame can find out how much his Bro paid. During his tenure on Pennsylvania Avenue, he paid $1,000,000 in income taxes. In 2020, he paid :Z-E-R-O! Did you pay any taxes, my friend? I did, as did most citizens of the village of Tahoma on Lake Tahoe's West Shore. We work, we pay taxes. Helps the community survive cold winters, etc.

Trump doesn't pay because he doesn't think he should. Republicans don't think they should have to pay. Corporations don't pay, enough. But that's different. Oh, no. Chief Justice John Roberts says corporations are people(see Citizens United decision). So, corporations are treated the same, helps the bottom line. Now we all have the opportunity to dissect Trump's financial life. And probably his family, too. We know a lot, but now we'll know what we didn't know-the curtain has been pulled back to reveal all to the world. Wizard of Mar-A-Lago? Or the Thief of Mar-A-LAgo? We'll find out thanks to I.R.S. sleuths.

Have a nice day, trumpy.

How Many Aspirin Needed for a Patriot Headache?

Mad Vlad of Kremlin fame has consulted with his medical support staff on duty 24/7 in the basement of the Kremlin. His military advisors told him(after they smoked a few doobies) that the US announced they would be sending a Patriot missile system to Volodymir Zelensky to thwart air attacks by the Russyan air forces. They told him these defense systems are deadly against all types of Russyan arms. This could raise the cost of the faltering war that Mad Vlad ordered in February, 2022.

He was also told he has about 6 months of grace because the US will train Ukrainian forces in Germany during the time before deployment of the missiles. Vovo then asked for the aspirin tablets which he seems to need more and more of everyday. His liver and kidneys are yelling "Enough", but he isn't listening. His partner said, "Stay in the Kremlin until this is over; who needs a grouch at home? Besides, you have faucets that provide vodka in your office. Drink all you want but don't come home expecting sympathy. You started this mess, not us, not the West, not Ukraine. You did, Putz."

So, deeper into his holiday funk he goes. It is common knowledge that many folks around the world get depressed during the holiday season for a variety of reason. The French footballers are depressed because they were beaten in the World Cup Final by rivals from South America(no names mentioned to cause more depression). Some Europeans are depressed because the price of fuel is going up by the day because of Russyan greed and price manipulation. Jews in Israel are depressed(some) because Bibi is back. The Chinese are depressed because Covid is starting a rampage through the population and very few of folks over 60 have been vaccinated and they will die. Dictator Xi is depressed because his slaves are depressed. Jimmy Lai is depressed because he was just sentenced to 7 years for being disloyal to a bunch of Commies in Beijing. Sam Bankman -Fried is depressed because he's in jail awaiting extradition to the US to face charges of widespread fraud. His parents, Joseph Bankman and Mrs. Fried are depressed because they gave their son their names which will join a Mr. Ponzi as architects of large schemes to defraud. Wells Fargo Bank is depressed because the bank was fined $3.7 billion for stealing from their own customers and got caught(not enough, really, despite being the largest ever).

The list goes on and on, but this is part of the human condition. depression, also known as unhappiness with the situation. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is facing a very long winter this year and next. How sad! Maybe he'll find relief in a bottle of aspirin; perhaps not. When the Patriot missiles start their work, Mad Vlad will get even more depressed. Watch for it.

Happy Holidays,

The Mayor

Putin's War Against the Rus

Well, the latest news from the Ukrainian "Special Operations" is not so good: the Rus Army is sliding backwards, again. The Chief Rus Idiot, Little Mad Vlad, is denying the truth- his army, his generals, his equipment, his air force, his plans, his future, are all a terrific 'hot mess'. Let's list his issues:

  1. blunders
  2. Putin summoned many of Rus' most powerful businessmen into a trap
  3. Kremlin spent big on the military. "A new "Potemkin" village went up instead.
  4. Collapsing Front; as Rus' stumbled, U.S. tried to save a Rus general
  5. Divided ranks -the Rus tank commander blew up his own checkpoint, it was not an accident.                                                                                                                                        6.Cannon fodder: word from Putin:"At least your dead son did not drink himself to death", he told a bereaved mother." Obviously words from a heartless man who never raised a son.

Now we hear from Dmitry V. Peskov, the pathetic puppet who speaks publicly for Mad Vlad to house organ, Rus Today(RT). "It's because the U.S. is giving the wily Ukrainians modern weapons and not giving any to us. It's not fair." We don't have to ask what this delusional creep is drinking: state-issued vodka. Easy enough to make, easy to ship in bulk, and quite easily consumed wherever you find yourself: at home, in your state vehicle, on your tank, in your jet fighter, in your hospital bed, in your casket on the way to the burial ground to join your comrades.

Journalists from the West, and the east, and the south, and maybe even from the north(Baltics, Scandinavia, Canada, etc) have been on a mission to analyze the situation in Ukraine and how the Rus appear to be reeling, despite having a superior number of troops deployed in a foreign country. The reportage is in depth, facts are gathered, assembled and a picture has emerged that the world can read. The picture that has emerged paints a grim situation in Ukraine among the population, and the hapless Rus who are scattered willy nilly across the steppe from the southern Russyan border, west to Poland and eastern Europe. As winter descends on the Steppe and Belarus, and Ukraine, the sad soldiers from the northern steppes of Russya start to freeze, start to accept their plight: forgotten by their families, abandoned by their leaders, mercilessly slaughtered by defenders of their own homes. Hmmmmm. And how did Putin think this would go? When madness dictates action, beware. As examples: Elon MUsk' purchase of TWITTER; Sam Bankman-Fried selling dreams and nothing else; Professor Joseph Bankman believing his son is infallible, and Donald Trump thinking that because he was once POTUS, he can do no wrong.

World Cup Final: Blue and White Stripes Win 2022 Qatar

In one of the most exciting World Cup contests in memory, the Argentinians prevailed over a team of determined footballers from France. The game went into the required 2 overtime periods after 2-2 tie in regular time. With the score 2-0 Argentina late in the game, France came up with a penalty kick that put them on the board 2-1. Within 90 seconds, the young star Kylian Mbappe put another ball in the net to tie the contest and send the fans into a French frenzy.

In overtime, Lionel Messi put in a goal for his team with 9 minutes to play. And then, another pk for Frence and Mbappe put the ball into the net to tie with less than 3  minutes to go.

And then the shootout for the win. Each team put their first shot into the goal, Messi scoring for Argentina, Mbappe scoring for Les Bleus. And then, the Argentine goalie worked his magic, blocking a shot and the next French shot went wide. Argentina did not miss, winning the contest 4-2 on pk's. Messi now has his world championship to put on the wall.

Who is Brock Purdy?

Many sports pundits had to do some research after the last 49er football game. Brock Purdy was the last man drafted a year ago. That choice is often derided as Mr. Irrelevant. My, my. How 1 game changes everything. He started his first NFL game last Sunday. And he won. Against Tom Brady and his Buccaneers. 35-7. He threw for 3 touchdowns, and ran for another. He was in complete control of the offense. For a 22 year old rookie, he was beyond impressive. His performance was amazing. His actions have given a boost to a season in need of a boost.

Watch him, too.

World Cup: France v. Argentina

The World Cup final sides is set: France v. Argentina, or Mbappe' v. Messi. Seems like a good contest. This Sunday.

Watch it! It is the 4th World Cup Final for France.

PG&E: We'll Bury 10,000 miles of Electric Powerlines

Sure. In the next 5 years? Sure. And  money grows on trees. The power monopoly that provides power to 16 million residents in Northern California is trying to raise some funds to finance the company's pledge to fix the infrastructure that failed when a few sparks lit off some wildland fires since 2018. The company plead guilty to manslaughter in the deaths in the town of Paradise where 86 residents lost their lives in the Camp Fire. Then there was the Sonoma County blaze that destroyed more than 3000 homes a year later. Oh, woe, woe, woe. Poor stock holders. Play with matches, get burned. I thnk it's time to bring in outside help. This corporation cannot serve two masters: stockholders and customers. One or the other. The CPUC, the overseer of monopolies here in California should be sent packing. It cannot serve two masters: corporations and citizens/taxpayers/customers. Gov. Newsom: he cannot serve 2 masters: corporations and voters. Throw the bums out.

     Maybe next time.

Mr. Bankman and Mrs. Fried: Trouble A Brewin'

SBF has been arrested. His indictment has followed as of today. We now know that his parents have been in on the scheme(Ponzi) since last year or earlier. Both parents are faculty members in the Standford Law School-not your typical set of parents. They specialize in-----TAX LAW. Hmmm. They've gone to the Bahamas to help out. Now they say they won't stay in the big house owned by TFX, son's corporation. Dad has been on the payroll to assist in philanthropy operations. Hmmm. Does that mean he supervised donations to various Democratic Party candidates to the tune of $70 millions? Almost equal to George Soros financial gifts?  Maybe it's time for Mr. and Mrs. Bankman-Fried to retire. Maybe get ready for a financial hit as they scramble to find a defense team that costs under $10K/day. Sorry, when you play in the big leagues, defense costs a whole lot more. How much is the new president of FTX being paid? He's just looking for assets; that's a lot easier than staying out of jail for 15 years. Mr. Bankman hasn't been charged, yet. Mrs. Fried hasn't been charged, yet.

Ask Elizabeth Holmes what it's like to wait for the indictment to come- stressful, I'll bet. But we know lawyers are a special breed, immune from most worry, insensitive to criticism, focused on the law. Good luck to the Bankman-Fried family. Poor brother Gabriel; he might just have to change his name or drop one and the hyphen too. Just plain old Fried would probably be Ok with Mom and Dad.

     See you all in court.

Send Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Prisoners

So, the Kremlin needs troops for the "Special Operation" in Ukraine where Russyan soldiers are getting killed at a record clip. Empty the prisons(Brittney Griner is already back in USA) say the generals in the Kremlin. So, Mad Vlad does just that. He orders new recruits to come from the penal colonies' population of thieves, murderers, rapists, homosexual deviates, sodomites, transgender freaks, and other assorted misfitssent away to purify the population. A typical Russyan solution to all social problems.

Now we have real "cannon fodder".

Bahkmut

This city in eastern Ukraine has become the latest focus of Russyan defensive maneuvers. The Russyan conscripts are told to dig in and hold their difficult positions. The Ukrainian army is fast encircling the remaining soldiers as they prepare a final assault on the city. The city of Bahkmut has now been reduced to rubble as artillery from both sides pounds every area. Ahhhh. The Kremlin. What a thoughtful brigade of murderers. Russyan soldiers are really not much more than robots: ordered into battle without controls excepting fear. Why does Mad Vlad persist? Because he's a Russyan and that's what Russyans do.

Yesterday, Ukrainian forces shelled a barracks building near Bahkmut that housed many Russyan conscripts, housed here because of the winter cold. The rockets found their mark and reduced the building to rubble, killing almost all the occupants. Many Russyan mothers will have a sad Christmas in 2022. Thank you, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. A fine mess you've got the country in. Oh, and don't tell us, again, that it's the fault of "The West". We know better.

Oh, and now we have even more blood on our hands: our mercenary troops, aka Wagner Group, are being sent in to help the conscripts. Oh, great: just what we need-former prisoners and conscripts relying on paid scum to lead them out of this mess. A fine fix. Does anybody read history? This will  not end well for the Steppe peoples.

SBF Arrested in Bahamas

Mr. and Mrs. Bankman-Fried traveled to the Bahamas to visit their little boy, Sammy. The two legal scholars from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, will try to bolster the spirit of the headlines-grabbing progeny known to the world as SBF. He was indicted today on 8 counts of securities fraud related to his crypto currency companies he founded just a few years ago at age 25. He's now 30.

He made quite a splash as the new face of crypto-tokens and feathery monetary units started by those irrepressible twins-the Winklevoss brothers. They touted this block chain idea as the "new" method needed to break the hold of government control  and Wall St. management of monetary units. Soon, individuals alone, with the help of city-sized computer networks, would be masters of their own financial fortunes, sans taxes, etc. Hmmmm. No doubt, this raised the ire of a few legislatures.

Rep. Maxine Waters knows a thing or two about financial dealings. She's the chairman of the House finance committee holding hearings today. SBF was scheduled to appear in front of the committee and answer a few questions. That won't happen today. He's in jail in Nassau. Now about Mom and Dad. May they be next to get put in the slammer? That is unclear at this time. What did they know and when did they know it? How much advice did they give their son as he built his house of cards? Might they be seen as co-conspirators? One would think that SBF was often on the phone with them to seek direction ass to the legality of his business moves. And what about the $70 millions in donations to Democrats? Hmmm. Might the DNC now have to kick back those donations to the lawyer now managing FTX? Mr. Ray, what is your view of the ownership of the $70 millions? If I were an investor holding an empty bag, I would want some of that donated cash that really belonged to me, not SBF.

Bernie Madoff is dead; is long suffering wife, Ruth, is dead. And one of his sad sons is dead. Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos fame, is preparing to enter prison for her 11 years for: LYING. Her partner in crime, Mr. Balwami, he's also preparing to enter prison for 14 years for LYING. No doubt, the curly-haired son of the STANFORD professors is also preparing for his time in prison. He's thinking: I'm 30 years old; trial will last months, the appeals will take months; I'll be convicted and sentenced sometime in early 2024. Maybe I'll get 18-20 years in federal minimum security prison. I'll be about 46-47 when I get sprung. I can start again! I'll continue to study while in prison. I 'll figure out a better scheme next time. Or not.

Putin Fetes a Castro

That's right: Mad Vlad held a celebration in Moskova to divert attention from his Ukrainian gambit down south. He made statements regarding the enviable record of the Cuban rebel's takeover of the Caribbean island off the coast of Florida. Vlad marked the unveiling of a statue of Fidel with his usual vapid speeches of a man he's revered since grammar school. The murderous Fidel and his henchman, Che Guavera, and younger brother Raul, enslaved a population with odious laws that stifled all democratic ideals that were used in the beginning of the "revolution". How did it work out for Cuba? Not so good.

And Mad Vlad thinks the world has forgotten; but the world can't forget of the murderous tactics employed by the Castro government to enslave the people of Cuba and continue this regime that deprives all people of all rights and independence.

Carry on Vlad, the world is watching and waiting. Think momentarily of your children and their legacy, which is your legacy, too. Sad. Two human beings cursed forever by your antics as dictator of Siberia.

Sergei Vas Silly Lavrov Explains

Explains? No, lies about Putin's war. He says civilian infrastucture is a legitimate target( power plants, railroads, schools, hospitals, emergency services, etc.) Hmmmm. Special Operations have legitimate targets? Poor Vasily Lapdog. He'll have his day in the I.C.C. after this debacle. The old lap dog of Mad Vlad is just another puppet whose strings are jerked by the Kremlin; whose dog and pony show is fodder for the Russyan masses across the Steppes and the Siberian tundra, including the Ural Mountains and the Pacific Coast wastes so coveted by China. But, I digress. The old fat ass just steps to the podium and spews his trite message(s) to a disbelieving corps of head-shaking media types who attend because they are paid to attend these lectures by a criminal mouthpiece of Russya. The I.C.C. is taking notes, Sergei. You will have to answer rto these lies which spread fear among the Ukrainian populace. You knoe: the populace that quakes in fear as the Russyan missiles dive into their lives since February 24, 2022. Yes, it's been awhile since the Kremlin sent the untrained, untried boys south to invade a sovereign country without provocation. Recall, Sergei, that President Biden told the world weeks before  the invasion that Putin had already given the go ahead for the action. Putin then denied this, only to carry out the whole "blitzkrieg"/lightening war against Ukraine. And then, the Ukrainian army hit the field and stopped the paper army in its tracks, forcing a retreat which continues to this day.

If the infrastructure of Ukraine is a legitimate target, then it follows that the same targets inRussya are also legitimate. I think that's deductive reasoning, or geometric reasoning, or logical thinking, or something else. Anyway, as soon as the Ukraine military acquires long range missiles, the Moskova infrastructure will be hit repeatedly by these arms. Watch what happens in Moskova then.

Simultaneously, in Vilnius, Lithuania, followers of Alexei Navalny, currently housed at a Siberian Penal Colony, are discussing Ukrainian topics on a You Tube channel dedicated to opposing Mad Vlad and his perverts in Moskova. The channel interviews those Russyan liberals who fled Russya to bring their opposing messages to the world after the dictator in the Kremlin started rounding up all dissidents they could find. Check it out; find out what the "message" is from the handful off opponents from Russya really think of their mother country. Think opportunists.

SBF: I Didn't know

So, FTX investors got a message from their arch enemy: Sam Blankman-Fried. To wit: "I didn't know the company was using investor funds to pay loans we used to buy other companies." No doubt he "knows" he can say anything he wants before an audience of dupes because he's not under oath and doesn't have to answer questions from a prosecutor. That day will come soon enough as the 30-year old dirt bag/scum bucket realizes the game is over and he has become another modern pariah. Still appearing as the douche bag of Wall Street in his floppy black T and cut off cargo pants with a mop head of hair cascading over his floppy ears, he continues to feed the narrative that his "business" has suffered some setbacks and will take some time to recover. Hmmmmm.  I'll bet Bernie Madoff thought the same thing for awhile. And Jeffrey Epstein thought something similar, and Jon Corzine thought the identical thoughts. The patterns of the thoughtless, clueless Ponzi-schemers. The game will go on forever, until it doesn't. The media has been having a wonderful time with SBF; it allows the pundits to kick sand in the face of Wall Street bigwigs and their lawyers who facilitate all these scams that sprout annually from the cavernous streets of Manhattan. Creative writers enjoy taking copious notes about all the mechinations of financiers as fodder for future stories of greed, pain, despair, and the aftermath.

The Mayor hasn't listened to any of SBF's sales pitches but no doubt his message was like so many others:"You can't lose; results are guaranteed. Get in now, at the start to realize all your dreams of wealth". So the game continues. The bankruptcy administering the company is now finding(or not finding) where the money went of the million investors who gave SBF their hard-earned cash. The dirt bag suggested that his company was hacked(the new fallback/go-to excuse of the scoundrel brigades). But the Mayor likes the more simple line:"I didn't know".  He'll soon have his day in court before he joins a few other scoundrels behind bars in Sing-Sing or maybe Guantanamo, Cuba.

Putin: The Answer MAN.

It's that time of the year folks: Czar Putin goes on the airwaves to talk at his people and answer their many questions to the best ...
