Caught this image yesterday at Lands End in SF, looking north to Marin Headlands. And lo, and behold- the MS Matthew Turner glides into view at Mile Rock light. Under way probably using motors with about half her canvas, the ship was taking a distinguished passenger/guest for a magnificent cruise. Famed oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle was on board for a memorable trip aboard San Francisco's own Tall Ship. Destination was the ships channel used by commercial vessels upon entering the Bay.
The ship reversed course an hour later and returned to the dock at the Army Corps pier in Sausalito. It was a great day for November, with temperatures hovering about 65 degrees.
