Homewood Resort: USASA RAil Jam Tomorrow-April 4

Homewood Ski Resort will host a snow  board event tomorrow, April 4th, Easter Sunday.  This event is one of many on the USASA winter season calendar for 2020-21 year.   The specialized event will takeover only a small section of the resort that has been set aside for the participants.  It seems the owners of Homewood have made the effort to bring outside events to the lakefront site to stimulate business and expose the area to a wider audience.  This bodes well for the West Shore/North Shore of the California side of Lake Tahoe.

Needless to say, the pandemic of 2020-2021 has not been good for vacation destination sites anywhere.  It has been especially so for those destinations requiring serious effort to make the trip, eg.-checking the weather forecasts,  arranging accommodations,  arranging transportation(4-wheel drive cap, cable chains, cold weather clothes, etc).  Lake Tahoe is a wonderful location for all outdoor activities, but some preparation is essential during the winter months.

Locals know all of this, but new visitors and even some frequent guests have to relearn the basics again, and again, and again.  Trekking into the Sierra on I-80, then on to State route 89, or 88, can be difficult.   Stories abound every winter of sad tales.
