Huawei Executive Living the Life in British Columbia
Meng Zhengua, the CFO of Huawei, and daughter of the founder, has been under arrest in Vancouver for over 2 years, waiting on extradition demands from the US Dept. of Justice. She's lives in a luxurious mansion and is allowed to go shopping and to eat out at expensive restaurants. Her husband and 2 children have been allowed to visit until February, 2021. We know the wheels of justice move slowly, but this stretches the credibility of any system. Where is the justice? When will justice be served?
The world waits, and waits, and waits.
On the flip side of the coin, the 2 Canadian citizens arrested China in retaliation for the arrest of Ms. Meng are not allowed shopping, family visitations, or any comforts at all. They are living a hell that is the situation of all Chinese prisons. As noted by our Minister of Asian Affairs who visited many prisons, life for the guilty "criminal" is not pretty by any measure. One does not want to violate any law in China. Hence the wariness of all its citizens: always looking over their respective shoulders.
