Well, no, they haven't been seen in Copenhagen crowding into McDonalds. They've been seen sniffing around Greenland. Where? What? Are you kidding me? Why Greenland is next to canada, next to the US, next to Washington, D.C. What gives? Need an airport?
So, there aren't any international airports worthy of the name on Greenland Island. The existing regional-sized facilities can barely handle small jets. So, our friends in Beijing think a new, bright , shiny aeroporto would look good on the southwest coast of the Island-the warmer area-better weather helped by the Gulfstream as it pivots east. Now Denmark owns Greenland and administers the island as a province. But, political reality includes most foreign policy governed by the central government. So, naturally, the Chinese airport builders must convince the Danes that their hearts are pure, their efforts altruistic, and the goal is improved international relations.
Message to Danes: check resumes and history of Chinese global efforts(see Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba, etc.) Oh, and keep an eye on Uighurs and their disposition in concentration/re-education camps.
Have fun with XiJP.
