Russyan Hacking: a Modern Concept of Real Politik

In a very soft way, the White House announced to the world that it must be understood that the Kremlin has taken a new approach to cyber attacks on business and governments around the world.  It seems that the Kremlinistas know there are few downsides to these efforts.  But US intelligence services have all but fingered Russya as the chief source of cyber attacks.   The Chinese have vowed to prosecute/prevent cyber attacks after it was disclosed that their military had engaged in such attacks.  The Russyans, on the other hand, have denied any such activity and in return have pointed to the US as a source of degrading assaults on the Russyan culture.  Go figure.
At the same time, the Russyan population has been supporting Mr. Putin and his leadership.  But Mr. Obama, despite his limited time left in office, is beginning to respond, probably with even more serious economic sanctions against individuals and Russyan government agencies.  Time will tell the degree of these sanctions but without a doubt, it's time that Russya be served notice that these attacks will no longer be tolerated.
