Lufthansa Nightmare in Munich :Today, Feb 23rd, 2026

So, one of Europe's premier airlines is boarding passengers on one of their fleet aircraft. The door is closed; the pilots pull back from the gate; the plane starts to taxi on the apron of the runway. And then the control tower orders the aircraft to ---W A I T. And wait, and wait, and wait some more.

Then all the ground crews depart leaving the aircraft S T R A N D E D on the runway. What about all the passengers and crew on board? They are left out there - alone. No ground staff are available.  It's such an empty feelonh. The MAyor has been stuck like this- for hours on the east coast of the US. Not fun. The airlines have taken big heat from the FAA over this very condition. There is no excuse.

There's no excuse in Europe either. Lufthansa will have to pay- big time. The lawyers are already writing their court documents/ The Mass Media are on it. The assengers? who knows? Maybe the customer service folks will recall what decision tree they used during tis incident. Whatever decisions they made, we all know it was to benefit the airline, not those trapped like rats on the plane. Shame, shame on Lufthansa. Money will help to sooth the feelings; a LOT of money. Euros by the thousands, if not more. I would be very angry, to say the least. And the airport operator should also pay, big time.

Commercial aircraft operators have rules. Break those rules- you pay. Oh, yes, it's the "cost" of doing business. Lucky for those passengers they were on the ground, not in the air.
