Recently, the White House issued a new policy about foreign students enrolled on American campuses. These students, numbering over a million, would have their visas cancelled if they did not take any on campus classes in the physical setting. This comes as some schools announced they would only have online classes. Harvard and M.I.T. immediately, filed lawsuits to negate the order. Others files Amicus briefs. This the White House recognized as too much of an obstacle, and cancelled the order yesterday. Chinese students make up the largest number of foreign students on American campuses. It's all about the money; and foreign students pay big money for the privilege of attending American universities.
So, as Hong Kong continues to deal with the latest National Security Law put in place by Beijing, the world watches, and waits.
