Skiing is good? Wait a bit, it will get better. More fresh powder is on the way, especially Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday thru Friday looks great. A holiday to remember is in the offing.

Bear Numbers: Census figures
Seen a few bears?
As reported in today's Chronicle, the bear population in California has more than tripled in the last 29years. From approx. 10,000 bruins in 1980 to over 35,000 in 2009. So, yes, you've seen different bears, not the same one over and over.
Keep your garbage secure, your doors closed night and day, and make noise when out on the trail for that wilderness hiking experience.
Fishing
Good news: DFG has relented on license display. Sportsmen and women will no longer have to wear the license exposed on the front of the body. It must be " in possession" only. Yea, some common sense from a regulator. Who would believe it?
