European Court of Human Rights Rules Against Russya

The occupation of the Crimea by Russyan military forces in February 2014 has led to multiple cases of human rights violations in the Ukrainian peninsula. Over 12,000 Ukrainian citizens have been foecibly removed from the peninsula and taken to prisons in various locations inside the largest country in the world. Some of those detainees have been sent to remote locations far beyond the reach of family members who wish to visit those prisoners. All of these victims were rounded up by various security forces including the F.S.B., the state security apparatus.

The minority ethnic Tatars have also been the focus of special attention. The Muslim minority has been the subject of cruel tactics by the police in the effort to make life in Crimea untenable. Mosques have been destroyed of repurposed by the military. The Ukrainian Orthodox church has also been the focus of suppression as prelates and officials have been arrested and often tortured while being held in conditions unfit for human occupants. The Kremlin's apparatchiks have made continuous raids on gatherings of local Ukrainian dissidents in attempt to stifle all opposition to the illegal takeover of this part of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the United States has given the Ukraine military advanced weapons that can be used against Russyan occupation forces on the ground in Crimea. These weapons are missile-type munitions that can be fired from deep inside Ukraine at military concentrations and bases established in Crimea.

The Kremlin pulled out of the European Court of Human Rights in 2022. They have refused since to allow investigators inside of Crimea in an attempt to verify accusations of human rights violations against locals.

    Ah, Russya- at it again.
