Noted American author, Pat Conroy, passed away at age 70, of pancreatic cancer. He was the author of iconic American novels: The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides, The Lords of Discipline, and Beach Music. Several were successfully translated to the big screen where they enjoyed even more success and acclaim.
He was raised in a military family that was often uprooted and relocated depending on his Dad's assignments. This lifestyle left an indelible mark on the young aspiring writer.
