US Navy Provokes Chinese Response

Down near the equator, in the South China Sea, the Chinese government has been aggressively seizing rocky shoals in international waters, building them up, and occupying these new "islands" as part of China's territory.  Several other nations also claim these rocky shoals as part of their territory.  Hence, a dispute.
The US government sides with the international court that says these are international waters.  As a result, the US Navy sent one of their ships into the alleged Chinese territory which was followed up by a protest by the Chinese defense dept.  The message is clear to the Chinese:  stop your aggression now!  This follows a fly over last month by an Air Force B-52 bomber.   The rocky islands now have a Chinese air base, and a unit of the military.  Hmmm. What next?
