Marines Celebrate 246 Years of Service to the Country

  flyer 10/11/68

November 10th, a date that rides a shoulder of the Veterans Day holiday, tomorrow, the 11th.  But today, Marines around the world, wherever they are serving, celebrate, some lavishly, more simply, depending on local circumstances.  It's a tradition, whether in peacetime or war, Marines take note of their traditions and their founding in 1775.

We've taken our collective lumps over the centuries, in many locations, big and small.  We have guarded installations, ships, embassies, consulates, air bases, fire bases, lookout posts, and more.  All with a sense of purpose and mission.  Trained to be aggressive and unforgiving when in the field, the reputation of the individuals remains intact.

Semper Fidelis.
