Big Brother is alive and well in China. Recently, information has come to the world that new state security measures have been put in place in China. Individuals will now be given a "social acceptance" score which the state will use to monitor and control activities of even its most lowly citizens. All in the name of national security. Of course. This is the most often used excuse for widespread control of a population anywhere-state security trumps all. as Mr. Xi consolidates power, he must resort to tactics to gain even more control. These new methods underscore other state moves. This past week the government has sent fighter jets over the South China Sea to serve continuing notice that the Chinese are expanding their zone(s) of influence. Other South East Asia governments and the US are on notice that Mr. Xi is widening his sphere of control.
So, we know what will happen soon: gate keepers will appear to control even more territory. Sound familiar?
